I eat here every time i visit Townsville because they have great fish. This time it was kingfish while my sister had the 2 course Sunday night roast buffet. There are seniors discounts for the buffet and also a range of seniors meals. My battered kingfish came with salad and chips and a creamy lemon infused sauce. The buffet had peas, potato, pumpkin, carrot and corn along with a variety of roast meats gravy, apple sauce and mint sauce. The service is friendly and you can buy wine by the glass in 2 sizes and bottles.

Definitely the place to be on a Tuesday! HUGE serving of crumbed steak with chips and salad for $10.90 and I can never ever finish it. I would definitely recommend bringing your own take away container with you so that half your meal doesn't go to waste. Best value for dinner and quite possibly the best crumbed steaks in Townsville! It was 4 ish and after coffee and cake. Nothing around and we were looking for a place that would serve us coffee and cake. Stumbled on this great place. Service was the best we had all weekend. Lynne looked after us and went into the kitchen and asked what they could do. We were offered a brilliant home made sticky date pudding with fantastic coffee. The views were beautiful too.Thank you! Amazing!

Went here recently with the In Laws and they were surprised at the size of the meals when they came out - no complaints from anyone at the table as the prices were also very reasonable. having the bar close by is a treat also. Went in a few days later however and no Tap beer in the main bar which was strange but I am sure it will be sorted.

Went here on two different occasions. A busy hotel with friendly staff. Our meals consisted of Eye Fillet Steak, Tomato Gnocci, Chicken Parma and assorted side dishes. The food was very good and I would definitely go back there.

We went to this pub for dinner on two occasions. The Malt is an upmarket version of the usual pub dining. The first time we ordered Haloumi and Avocado Salad and the Chef's Handcrafted Gnocci (forest mushrooms and broccoli). Our meals were delicious and the service was very good. On the second occasion we ordered the same meals (vegetarian) and our companion ordered a steak from the special's menu. He said that the steak was very tough and told the waitress so.
