Very relaxing meal - three of us ordered three different mains and three different puds and they were all good. The landlady gladly ran through which menu items were available gluten-free as my daughter has coeliac disease, which was great. I tried all three beers(!) and they were all in very good condiiton too. Time for a nap...

Very pleased with an evening meal, having booked a few hours earlier from a nearby B&B.Small, cosy very traditional pub, landlady running the bar, and we believe husband is the chef? Our meal was excellent value, good quaily food, and presented with care, which showed. Could have been home cooked (by someone who can cook, not reheat!)The menu was quite varied for a small pub, again showing some thought, and the biggest problem was choosing which of the several temptations to go for! We look forward to a return visit.

We have stayed at this pub with rooms several times as it's very close to the Minsmere RSPB reserve. Everything about this place is delightful - the rooms are really nicely decorated and very comfortable, the pub has bags of atmosphere (and does great food) and it's in one of the most beautiful bits of the UK, just by the Minsmere levels. It's got a magical atmosphere - surrounded by reed beds and coppiced woodland and it's lovely being in a pub that really feels like it's part of a thriving community. The breakfasts are enormous and made with local ingredients and you are made to feel very welcome by the lovely staff. The pub serves great beer too and there is a garden with a play area. We can't wait to go back!

The Plough and Sail is in the rather uninspiring Snape Maltings shopping complex (apart from the brilliant concert hall). We had a very poor meal. The main issue was we ordered the special of a dover sole tempura, which was a nice tower of tempura swimming in a sort of runny fish and red pepper soup. So within a minute we were looking at a plate of food that had turned to a mush of soggy batter and fish strips. I have to hope that on this day the chef had simply got it wrong as there are so many other good reviews.

Our Lunch started off perfectly, after getting our drinks and then being seated we decided to just go for the main meals and then have desserts. We expected to wait a while as the food had to be cooked, always a good sign. When the meals arrived they were well presented and were very tasty. After finishing our mains we sat for quite while with no one coming in to see if we had finished, or asked if it was okay to collect our plates and naturally ask if we wished for dessert or coffee. Just about the same time a family appeared, 2 adults and 2 children. The ambience of the eating area was disrupted and the family wished us to hear their running commentary about their lives! So this being the case of no service and a loud family we decided to get up and pay for our drinks and main meals. So hence the poor rating, it does make you wonder really as to why the simple things are not in place, bear in mind that the place had very few customers in it and very few eating. So I wonder what it would have been like if busy. The staff were not rude actually quite polite but lacked the expertise dealing with us.I would also just say that where we sat was opposite the main kitchen door, staff were bustling in/out and loud music poured out. Okay when door was shut. The total cost for drinks and food was £36.20, a tad expensive, £6.30, half Ghost and pint of shandy for drinks, Grab salad £13.95, Duck £15.95

Booked a table, visiting area. Staff ok and were served promptly. Menu wasn’t that inspiring but it was lobster week! So lobster was ordered .. very underwhelming considering the price of it (£30.00), fish and chips .. very small portion of fish sat on top of some cheap frozen chips with a pot of dried up mushy peas, (£12.99) and lastly the pork parcels .. again very small portion, 2 spring rolls with a mound of leaves and dipping sauce, honestly thought we had ordered a starter in error. That came with a dish of the lack lustre chips (£12.00). Dessert saved the day though, we certainly had room for one! All in all, very over priced. Looking at a few of the other reviews, the menu hasn’t changed at all in years!

We arrived hungry after a full day out and ordered an evening meal. Unfortunately despite cheerful and generally helpful service from the two staff who had to tend the bar and serve meals, the food was moderate and did not support their efforts. One plate of food was lukewarm and the other, crab and crayfish linguine, contained only scraps of said shellfish and relied heavily on lots of peas! This was a shame as the pub itself is a cosy, welcoming place. Perhaps we were unlucky...

We arrived with our 3 cocker spaniels and our 6 year old granddaughter Evie for lunch. The landlord Andy could not have been more welcoming. He paid particular attention to our granddaughter and encouraged her to eat all her lunch which Evie did. After clearing the table much to Evie’s delight he brought her 2 bags of sweets. The food was tasty and the menu had something for everyone. Thoroughly recommend this pub. In fact the next day my wife and I enjoyed a great evening meal without dogs or granddaughter. My steak was delicious and perfectly cooked and my wife loved the sea bream.Thank you for taking the time to review us & we are really pleased you enjoyed your experience here at the Old Chequers pub.Thank you again.

Exceptional good quality food served in the oak beamed restaurant. Just won the 'Suffolk Best Pub Food' award for the 2nd year running.

We live in Mid Suffolk and often say that we are so lucky to have lots of great places to eat nearby. Unfortunately this sometimes makes us a bit lazy in that we don’t go further afield to eat. Tonight we made a trip to Sibton which is a lovely place and now know that it has a really wonderful pub which serves exceptionally good food. Lots of choice on the menu and it all sounded so good that it was very difficult to choose. Lots of locally-sourced food which was really nice to see, I chose a starter of Baron Bigod cheese, followed by Blythborough belly pork and pork cheek, the presentation and quality of everything on the plate was really special. Dessert for me was a particularly difficult choice, spiced banana cake was just right. We will definitely be back soon. Highly recommended.

Kings Head Public House

We ate here on a Sunday evening. The dining room was cold, and dingy. The tables were badly placed and too close together. Our food, when it eventually arrived (45mins plus with a dining room of only three covers) had been thrown together by the chef who seems to have lost all enthusiasm for his craft. The only redeeming feature were the waiting staff who were good natured and efficient but sadly handicapped by their working environment and the poverty of the food. This place is resting on its laurels. It needs an injection of enthusiasm and talent in the kitchen and action taken to improve the dining area. Turning the radiators on in November would be a start.
