We're American, so we were so pleased to see large families together drinking and singing to the incredible music (if you have any chance to see Wise Guys, go for it). I would travel from London any time to see this lot. Amazing. Food is average but the service is so generous and gracious we didn't care.

We visited while staying in the New Forest for the weekend and weâre not disappointed. This is certainly not just âpub grubâ. The service and the food were absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend the âDippy Egg Soldiersâ and the mussels- absolutely delicious and amazingly presented. The pub was extremely friendly and lively and incredibly welcoming of dogs. We will be back!

The globe inn is by far the best restaurant in highcliffe. Every time I have visited this restaurant I have always had the best service and quality of food- absolutely delicious. We will never come back to this place.....food is awful.... I can't believe people think this place is good. I do have some good points carvery meat ok but not fantastic..bad points. potatoes dry, mash salty, veg bland peas dry. Tea and coffee terrible for the price. Sharer tasting platter chicken dry, stuffing dry and over cooked, pigs in blankets interesting as not the flavour you would expect. Had to have some cake and a coffee back home just to reignite the taste buds.Honestbreview, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but we would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around.

Visited early on a Sunday evening in August. We were a bit worried as the Nelson wasnât too busy! However,food was excellent....roasts especially! Nice selection of beers and wines. Desserts to die for. The welcome that we received was very good and were made to feel like locals. Well worth a visit.

Was on holiday in the area and decided to book the Amberwood for Sunday evening dinner and certainly wasnât disappointed. Very friendly and efficient staff took our drinks order very quickly and despite it being fairly busy didnât wait ages for the food either. Would highly recommend the roast turkey. Great place and will definitely come back when visiting the area.

We were lucky to get a table - on a miserable wet Friday lunchtime, the place was heaving. However, we did get one, and it was worth it.My starter of prawn and crayfish cocktail was so big they served it in a soup plate, but i managed to get through that, as it was lovely. I hardly needed a main course after that, but my chicken was delicious and I was sorry to have to leave some of itThe service was good, and the views across the Avon water meadows must be lovely on a sunny day.Next time I shall order something smaller!

We had a drink in this glitzy pub in an historic part Christchurch.First time I stayed in Christchurch for many years .Visited toilet before I left the soho and was shocked to see such crass and demeaning pictures of women on the wall ......made me wonder what type of person is managing this place !

Had a lovely pub lunch here today. Atmosphere in the pub was quite cosy, my husband had the scampi lunch menu and I had a burger - tasty food nicely presented and reasonably priced. Biggest problem was parking - 30 minutes only if parked outside but we did just manage it. I would come back here again.

Jeremy and Averil took us to eat Thai cuisine last night and we had a really good meal at the Rising Sun. We started with sticky spare ribs followed by pork belly and prawns in a great spicy hot sauce. Finally sunk by delicious ice cream. Lovely hostess with a beautiful derriere. Worth a visit!!!!
