Best Portuguese food near Estoril, Cascais, Central Portugal

Reviews on Portuguese food in Estoril, Cascais, Central Portugal. An exclusive resort town long recognized for attracting royalty, Estoril lies less than 20 miles west of Lisbon and is probably best known for its casino. One of Europe’s largest, it was the inspiration for the first of Ian Fleming’s James Bond books, "Casino Royale." Estoril’s mild winters and warm sunny summers make it a perfect beach town, with one of the nicest, Praia do Tamariz, lying right next to the casino. So famous has Estoril become that the local coast is now called Costa do Estoril.

A group of six of us had tapas dinner here, walked in of the street, drank at the bar and then for a table. We went with their wine recommendations which were good. The tapas was nice, good jamon, excellent cod cakes, nice prawns. Not a big or unusual menu but plenty trip eat and well cooked. The staff are friendly and helpful. We went back another evening and they had the front all open which we found a little chilly but otherwise it was all good.

We haven't come to Tertúlia for some years, which is a shame, really. This is a friendly spot for great food and enjoying your time with friends. Service is very efficient and friendly, and you rally feel at ease.and then the menu has several very interesting options...and they are all VERY GOOD. We were a large group and could try several dishes (duck leg - divine; piglet fillet - sublime; octopus - great). And the desserts are also amazingly good.Definitely recommend it...and we will try to come back soon

I found this place thanks to a friend's suggestion. Food is great quality (and cheap from a tourist's perspective - which is always appreciated). We were two and had two menus, with picanha and secretos de porco. Pork was perfectly cooked, picanha a bit hard. Great piri piri sauce. We had to leave some french fries because we were full! The place is outside the normal tourist routes in the area so there you'll mostly find locals eating a quick lunch. Can get quite warm to sit outside during the summer. Overall, recommend!

what a lovely hidden gem of a restaurant. Accommodated our table of 10 no problem. Attentive, polite and discreet service. Very, very good traditional Portuguese food and most of all, excellent value for money. Local people were also eating here so we took that as a good sign. It doesn't look like much but the food and service more than make up for that.Agradecemos o seu comentário. Esperamos vê-lo numa próxima visita. Cumprimentos

This restaurant was just around the corner from our accommodation, great little find. Food was tasty, wine very reasonable and lovely service. 3 of us were very satisfied with our choice but hubby had prawn risotto which was too dry. The restaurant is quite small so would recommend booking. Only visited once but would definitely go back.

We booked through The Fork website and were seated at 18:30 although it was earlier than we would normally like to eat, we didn’t want to miss the opportunity as we had seen all the positive reviews. We were not disappointed, it is small but very cosy, the waiting on staff were friendly and helpful. The food was as expected; excellent. We had the nduja bruschetta and the beautiful truffle ravioli and a nice frozen almond and chocolate cake. The house red was very agreeable and after our coffees were given a complementary tot of port.People were on a waiting list outside, but we didn’t feel rushed. Excellent food and service, but book well in advance unless you don’t mind waiting outside with a drink.A place to definitely return. Superb.

My family of four had a wonderful dinner here. The selection of tapas was varied and each dish was absolutely delicious. We had a reservation for 8:30 and were seated promptly. Service was so friendly and helpful and we appreciated the advice on local travel tips as well. Highly recommend for a lovely evening! It was our first night in the area, staying in Cascais, and Uber was easy. We are so happy we visited this pretty little restaurant.

Arrived as the first quests at 7pm. Had our orders in at 7.10. Two of us (party of 7) took starters. Other diners start coming at 7.30pm. The starers arrive at 7.50pm. Everything takes forever. First main courses arrive at 20.20pm. Or at least part of it; pork cheeks come but the mashed asparagus thingy still awaits. It arrives app. 10 minutes later. My girlfriend's veal loin is gray, blue rare at the best and very chewy. Might still have a pulse even? We send it back and they grill the all-ready cut steak pieces to done. Only my brother actually liked the his food. Floor manager comes to ask is everything ok? We explain the situation; nothing has really gone right and everything has taken forever. He just turns on his heels without saying a word. And by the looks of some of the other parties we weren't the only ones not enjoying the dinner. Like said, nothing went right and we really weren't even apologized until we had paid the bill. On the plus side there were toys so at least our groups 2 year old had a blast. By this experience alone, I would not recommend this one to anyone but given the rank at TripAdvisor it honestly can't be THIS bad?? And as Finns this review is saying alot...Hello Tekniikka:We are really sorry for the bad experience You had at TaskaLusa. We work hard everyday to be able to have the rank and reviews that We have and that I'm sure you've seen. We have been fortunate to be able to give different experiences, much more positive, as You can see at TheFork for example, that same night. We will look into what happened thoroughly and make sure we will not make the sames mistakes again. If You decide to visit us again, I'm sure We will be able to provide a completely different experience of Portuguese Cuisine and of our Restaurant.

As other places in my list was closed, i decided to visit this one, mostly because of good reviews on Tripadvisor. But i was not so exited about the food, neither the service. While we was checking menus, we got already bill from another table and the waiter was confused, when i told that we just came. Afterwards the service was quite good. Got our ordered fish and chicken, and I got confused when my fish was served with actual chips. (I have been to places where its writen in the menu *chips* and you are getting some home made potatoes (like simple wersioin of french fries), but never a real chips as a side dish) . OK, my fail, needed to read the menu carefully and ask more questions. Overall it was eatable, but nothing special. My boyfriend was quite satisfied with the chicken. For 30 Euros you can get better meal.
