We stopped in to Grand Slam Pizza for the first time. It's a new business and much needed in the neighborhood. This is not a sit down and have them wait on you place. You walk up to the counter and order your food and find a table. The wait staff will bring the food out when it's ready.We order a medium pizza and found it to be very good. The crust was crispy on the outside and moist and soft inside. The veggie items on the pizza were plentiful, fresh and flavorful. We were more than happy with the taste of the pizza. A medium was enough for two hungry adults and we even took some home.There is beer and wine available and the prices are great. The happy hour prices are even better. The restaurant is large inside with booths and long picknick style benches. There are over 8 large screen TVs on the walls all showing sports. The restaurant is nothing fancy but it was comfortable and the value of the food vs the cost was very good.I would recommend you try this place out if you like pizza. We will definately be going back soon!

This is certainly not little Caesars quality pizza. You actually get real mozzarella cheese. If you have not tried a calzone try it here first. You will keep coming back.

Tucked in the strip mall on upper Santa Fe Avenue in Vista, it would be easy to pass Pizzamaniac by as just your corner pizza shop. Once a pizza parlor with a similar name, plenty of the old defunct pizza decor remains behind. Only a few tables dot the restaurant floor with bistro style chairs covered in red plastic. The spaghetti red walls are decorated with large flat screen TV, and tend to dominate the ambiance of the space. Along with the "sports bar" decor are an old mix of sports memorabilia and photos of Frank Sinatra in an odd mix that is somewhat bewildering to the pizza theme restaurant decor.The service and personal were happy to serve their inventive Presto Pesto pizza that takes ho-hum dish pies to a new culinary level under the supervision of owner, Ben Phillips. It is an excellent start in next age pizza!

Great all-around pizza place! Wonderful pizzas--try the Special--perfectly cooked with a crispy crust and fresh ingredients. Another favorite is the antipasto salad--with spears of a variety of meats and artichoke hearts, garnished with olives. They have a variety of other food available too. A favorite with families, sport teams, dating couples, and those who just want to watch the game while enjoying great pizza and a beer.

We have eaten here several times and always have a good meal. When we have visitors from out of town we take them here.I love the spaghetti with meatball and sausage. The meatball is huge and the sausage full of flavor. A full order is enough for me and my husband to share.The sauce they use is very good and full of flavor. The prices are reasonable and you get plenty for the money.I highly recommend that you try this restaurant.

After several months of (unsuccessfully) looking for a new pizza place (see my earlier review), we decided to go back to Urbn to see if the sanitation and service concerns we had had changed. I'm very pleased to report that during this visit, everything we had worried about was MUCH better. We didn't order the salad, just in case handling of raw materials was still problematic (not enough hand-washing). But, since we sat at the counter, we watched as food was prepared. Lots of hand-washing between tasks and before making every salad while we were there. The service was much better as well--tables bussed in a timely fashion, beers delivered promptly, etc. Hurrah! It's back to being our favorite pizza restaurant!
