We visited Chez Pepe several times whilst staying in Mauritius. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, the choices on the menu are wonderful (fish, meat, Mauritian curries, pasta, pizza) and the prices are very reasonable Everything is cooked from fresh and the flavours are amazingHighly recommended dishes include the calamari starter (huge portion so suggest you get one to share), the chicken and shrimp Mauritian curry, the Mafiosa pizza and the calzone. Simply delicious Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. A must-do restaurant if staying in Flic-en-Flac

This is an Italian restaurant in a shopping center in Black River. The menu has the typical Italian choices, like pasta and pizza. The pizzaâs we ordered were fine, the pasta was not such a success. I ate the fish (Papillon style), which was OK, though it could have used some more cooking before it was served. We sat outside (there is also plenty of seating inside) as the weather allowed it.

Ok, so this place doesnât look like much from outside, but believe me, you wonât have better Italian food anywhere in Mauritius. Their home made fresh pastas are second to none. They are inventive and delightful. A unique treat. Their pizzas are by the far the best we have had on the island. As good as some of the best pizza you could have in Italy. So, please donât waste your money and come get some genuinely delicious Italian food either for take away or to eat at one of the couple of tables outside. I guarantee this will be the best Italian meal youâll have this side of the Indian Ocean. Ten thumbs up!!!!

I cannot provide evidence that my statement is objectively correct as I have not been eating at all places serving pizza; however, pizza does not get much better than at Seven Pizzas. Located by the main road into Flic En Flac it is a small outfit with a few tables only and managed by a sympathetic French man. I have been here 3 years ago and was waiting for the place to open after the chef's annual leave, and he did not disappoint: try the Seven Pizzas option and you will have a good pizza meal. If you crave for pizza after been stuffed by local specialities, don't waste your time but head straight to Seven Pizzas for an onsite or takeaway pizza delight.

We arrived in Mauritius after 23 Hours of travel from Australia.We were exhausted and there was no accurate map of the island available. We were hopelessly lost, driving a hire car, dark and raining and could not find our accommodation. We stopped at this restaurant to ask for directions. Well, we never expected the kindness we received from Dylan! He jumped in our car and took us to our villa with only a request for us to return him to work. We subsequently ate there 3 times and every meal is delicious. Recommend the tuna carpaccio, and the beef is nice too. As an Aussie, the pizzas were ok. Order the stuff that needs someone who can cook. You wonât be sorry.

Discovered this little gem after originally stopping for a coffee on the way back from the beach. Very reasonably priced burgers, and very tasty fries. Burger by no means large but still decent value at 200 MR and they also do very tasty pizzas. As I haven't yet tried the Jeannot burger shack yet, can't say at this point which place deserves the accolade of ' best burger to be had in Flic en Flac'. Dined here one evening, great food but since renovation they now have a hefty supplement with only a R900 credit pp.We've dined here several times before and there was never any supplement before.No one told us of this new development when we booked, neither the restaurant concierge nor the wait staff. It wasn't until we checked the bill we were shocked and then informed of the changes.It should be made clear when booking .However the staff were pleasant and helpful - but they really should explain the new charges!

Staying nearby so I tried this place for dinner after reading the glowing reviews of the pizzas. The ambiance is very nice, good mood music and nicely presented restaurant. Has a real homely family run feel to it. Was busy and clearly had many locals there which is a good sign. Staff are relatively attentive. Ordered and served quickly. I had the large house special meat pizza Graciola or something like that. The crust was thin but slightly dry, not the tastiest crust. The topping was very generous, it filled the pizza, maybe overfilled it if thatâs possible. The ingredients were clearly very fresh but again there was almost no flavour at all. I was expecting more after the reviews.Also had a glass of house red which was fairly nice. The price seemed fine to me, by no means an over priced meal in my books but maybe Iâm just used to London prices..Overall, nice feel to this place but surprisingly I felt the pizza let the place down a bit.
