Apparently the name means People in Italian and there was plenty of them there when I visited. For good reason too. A comprehensive and creative menu with many of the old favorites some given a new slant. The service was casual and attentive and the atmosphere comfortable and warm. Great location too down on the Southbank strip. Not cheap but good. I’d go back.

Went there in March for a friend's birthday. She had a booking but unfortunately some people were late or couldn't make it. The staff had poor communication with each other as within 5 minutes, 3 different people came to find out if we were ready to order. Then only a minute after this another person came to see if we were ready to order. We told this man no and that several people had already come to ask us within 5 mins. He said he was the manager and he sent them all to find out if we were ready because he wanted to take the rest of our table to get more people in the door. He was very demanding and upset my friend whose birthday it was. Considering we had a booking and the restaurant was far from full, this behaviour was unacceptable. To make things worse when I asked a waitress where the bathrooms was she just pointed and said "that way" with a bad attitude. I've worked in retail and hospitality and if I ever spoke like that to a customer in that tone, I'd be sacked. The bathroom was up some dodgy stairs and was not signed well. It was disgustingly dirty so I warned others not to use it. Then one of my friends wanted to order another drink. While the same waitress as before was collecting plates, my friend asked if she could get another drink. The waitress ignored this request and said in her rude tone "are you finished?" My friends said yes and that she just also wanted to get another drink. The waitress didn't want to deal with this request and again asked in her rude tone if my friend was finished her food. Seriously, how hard is it to multitask and be polite? To top it off the same rude waitress tried to charge our table twice for a meal. Considering the food was average and I could easily make at home, I won't be back and going by my friends reactions to the experience, they won't be either. And for anyone wondering if it got busy after they demanded half our table, no it didn't and now I know why.

The restaurant was VERY busy, we had our starters which were delicious, but somehow our mains order was lost, so we waited and waited. When brought to their attention they immediately rectified, were very apologetic and went above and beyond to compensate. All the food was excellent, the ambience was lovely, the staff great - I think our delay was a one off that was handled perfectly by the manager. I would not hesitate to visit again or recommend.

Traditional Italian restaurant in Brunswick Street Fortitude Valley/New Farm.Smallish venue with two separate dining areas. Typical basic Italian decor and seating.Menu choices as to be expected. Service was friendly. Food, on the night we dined, was average. The Owner/chef spoke very highly of his food but unfortunately we did not share his opinion. The restaurant is fully licensed but BYO wine is permitted however it is limited to one bottle and a charge of $15 is levied. The restaurant wine list is very limited and the quality of the wine offered is very poor eg Yellow Tail !There are many other Italian restaurants to choose from and unfortunately I must say I would not hurry back to this establishment.Hello Trevor, thank you so much for your feedback. Our BYO is currently $5 per person (we have had this price for quite a few months now). Could we ask you which day you were in so we can check what went wrong please? we value everyone's comments and would like to improve any point mentioned. We look forward to receiving your email [email protected]

Last minute decision for an Italian dinner! The pasta was al dente and perfectly cooked. The mushroom pasta just needed a touch more salt or cheese but was other wise delicious. The chicken pate was amazing. The veal entrée (with mayo, tuna etc) was alright but I was expecting more flavour. Service was great at the start, but as the night got busier we were waiting longer and longer for food. All up I think we spent 2 hours there - mainly waiting for our food to come out... If you are ok with eating early, get there before it gets too hectic!

The food is locally sourced and reasonably priced. I had the spaghetti carbonara which was good but a bit bland for my taste. The service was friendly, helpful and attentive. There was a nice local crowd in the restaurant for lunch and what appeared to be baffles in the ceiling to keep the noise level manageable. I am rounding my rating up to 4 based on the service and the price. Helpful Hint: The restaurant is not immediately on the street. There was a sign on the sidewalk pointing in the direction of the restaurant.

We stayed for one night locally so looked for a restaurant within easy walking distance of our hotel. The Casa Nostra was only 400 metres away and we were impressed with the contents of the Trip Advisor reviews from other diners. We certainly made the right choice. The service was great, the ambience spot on and the food was excellent. I had the Linguini Gamberi and my wife had a risotto. Both were generous portions, full of flavour and freshly made. The only slight gripe is the price of wine. I think the cheapest bottle was $46 and our choice came in quite a bit higher. How about a more reasonable vino della casa? All in all a very good and seemingly popular restaurant. We’d go back.
