This café is so retro, you feel like you've stepped into the twenties or even before that time. The decor is quaint and looks old Persian mixed with Old Victorian, with overstuffed armchairs, lots of potted plants and knickknacks. When I walked in , I saw people occupying the table on one side, and decided to sit in one of the armchairs.I ordered a pomegranate juice and it was definitely fresh and unsweetened , which suited me fine. The place has a romantic vibe, and in fact while I was there, a man came over and started playing his guitar. Definitely would go back when I am in the mood for boho and socializing.

Wow! Live traditional music, waitresses in traditional dress, traditional food, great service! I couldn't ask for more. There are two things though,1- they don't serve dessert. 2- it is located underground so bye bye WiFi and phone signals!

Three of us had lunch here based on recommendations from TripAdvisor. It was just 3 minutes walk from our hotel. The rooftop open terrace was nicely decorated. It was 38c and humid. The wind and some steam jets gave us some comfort. The menu was very limited, just 4 dishes to select from (see photo). We ordered two Gheyme Nesar and one Bademjan Stew. Both were lamb dishes but lamb was so little, may be even less than 50gr per dish with large amount of rice. Lamb was not enough even for quarter of the rice. Food was delicious but we found it’s not fair deal to serve so little meat for a high price (350,000 rial + 12% service fee). Moijto was good.

our main interest was visiting the building which was too beautiful , it was the noon and we decided to have lunch there whereas we knew that Shapouri restaurant is not listed as one of the best in Shiraz. mismanagement was the first item that i like to mention here , the staff were wondering around and nobody cares who entered or who went out ,the most terrible item was food quality that really is only wasting of the money and the third was high rate of the food that is too abnormal for what you receive . in one word totally rejected . the only adventage is beauty of the building and area .

Meeting with Mohsen and his mum in their home was a truly magical experience. The food was truly superb - I counted 10 separate dishes, all exquisitely prepared and presented, which Mohsen's mum had prepared for just themselves and two guests! Mohsen's English is very good indeed and he is a wonderful conversationalist with a great interest in all dimensions of life. An absolute highlight of our visit to Shiraz and indeed Iran overall. Would that there were such an opportunity in Esfahan, Yazd and other cities. Do not miss this opportunity when you visit Shiraz.

Soofi Traditional Restaurant

Well , I visited Shiraz after 15 years from NC, USA. There are a lot to do, places to see and foods to try in Shiraz.Soofi transitional restaurant has been around for decades and it was wonderful to see it still has the same high quality food. The difference is back then there’s was only the traditional restaurant, now they have expanded. They have traditional Persian food ( kabob, my favorite is their Barg kabob), stuffed chicken and rice, khoresht, and the speciality of the city of Shiraz “ Kalam polo”, still my favorite was their barg kabob).Surprisingly now Soofi also offers western cuisines. My favorite being their Pizza and burgers !!!!! They are the best and easily competing with food in major capital cities around the world!

We left the National Museum very hungry and walked up 30th Tir St. The roses and other flowers attracted us. Inside 4 tables and some outside on the footpath. Menu is in English . We had Alfredo omelette's (lots of mushrooms, olives and cheese) . They were succulent, tasty - just delicious. The coffee was excellent with a lovely chocolate treat on the side. They also served pastas and burgers plus salads. But - the best part - the staff were just so friendly and welcoming. Lovely lovely people. Definitely our best cafe experience so far. Treat youself

I visited this place because it’s close to Vakil Bazaar and it’s actually just in front of the beautiful mosque. So, I wasn’t really expecting too much as I thought it would be a touristic place for meal. The food actually was really good. I’m glad I decided to eat here. It was served with hospitality from the staff. They have outdoor seats as well which is nice since the square is lively in the evening. This might not be the traditional restaurant but I would recommend it if the quality of the food is what you are after.
