Having lived in France, the one thing I miss in the UK is a decent couscous restaurant. Having stopped in Alencon for the night, decided to try the L'Oriental. Wasn't disappointed. Great food, reasonably priced. Will definitely go there the next time I happen to be in Alencon.

We ate here having arrived in Alencon on a bank holiday and found everything in the town shut. The patron took pity on us starving Brits (and another family with two children) and opened the kitchen early and we enjoyed a three course meal there. I can't speak highly enough of this place - there was certainly no "jobsworth" working there - the guy saw customers and pushed the boat out to serve us. He was charming too. And the food was good.

Di passaggio ad Alencon, dopo aver visto la cattedrale si è fatta l'ora di pranzo e passiamo davanti a questo ristorante turco, con un bel numero di tavoli all'interno e che non si presenta male. Vedo già dalle vetrate che ha in frigo pure la birra, cosa tutt'altro che scontata in questi posti, e quindi entriamo. Il titolare è veramente molto gentile, parla piano per farsi ben capire. Prendiamo due diversi piatti kebab; attendiamo parecchio, cosa che in genere non avviene, ma alla fine è perché è tutto cotto più che bene, abbondante e soprattutto tutto molto buono. Sicuramente il miglior piatto kebab mai mangiato. Prezzo nella norma, consigliatissimo.
