So many good things about this restaurant should make it a 5-star experience. So, I'll start with all the great things. The setting is marvelous, especially the outside terrace. The tables are big and comfortable, and nicely spaced. The outlook over the hills with the twinkling lights of the nearby colonias is quite nice. The menu is not expansive, but has some interesting-looking options, nonetheless. Even burgers and sangers for those who don't want a complete meal. My Tilapia with spinach and artichokes was marvelous, truly a 5-star culinary experience -- probably the best dish I have had in a restaurant in many months. My only complaints regard service. The hostess was wonderful, and I was seated immediately, and given a wide range of seating choices. The waitress was also friendly and helpful, but simply wore me out with all the cross-selling. Would I like something more to drink, would I like to add a soup, would I like to add a salad, would I prefer sparkling water, would I like a side of this or that, how about a second dessert? I was waiting to be asked if I wanted the McMeal, would I like to supersize it... After a pleasant meal, I was enjoying the setting, and my drink, in a nearly empty restaurant, when the waitress brought the check, without my requesting this. This had never happened to me in Costa Rica before, and seemed quite pushy and inappropriate.Still, I would recommend Antigua, to the extent of going out of your way. The food is great, and the prices quite reasonable for the setting and the food quality (and quantity, come to that).

On our second day in San José, we spontaneously went into this restaurant, due to seeing tables with different locals dining (couples, singles, families, old and young), as well as its unpretentious aura.It has a canteen/cafeteria type of setup on one side, where one can directly order the food for take out, or if dining in, you can also order from their big menu. The Casado plate was abundant and tasty! It was our first Tico food, and what an enjoyable introduction that was indeed. The menu we chose also included a drink, and so we had our first refreshing “cas” — a local lime/lemon kind of drink. The staff was very attentive (but not overbearing), friendly and accommodating, particularly when both parties had no clue what was being said to the other.

A great out of the way restaurant situated off the main road thru town. The Venezuelan owners are very cordial and the food is a variety of Tico with a Venezuelan twist. The Fettuccine Alfredo con Pollo was delicious and the proportion large enough to take some home. Definitely a place I will revisit.Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are glad that you enjoyed your dinner and that you recommend us in such a wonderful way. Greetings and we hope to see you again in La Kaskata Café

We were visiting Costa Rica from Miami and pleasantly spent two days in Grecia. The owners of Yayaz Hotel (where we stayed at) highly recommended this restaurant to us and they were very assertive by giving us that advice. The food was extremely good and the waiter that took care of us last Sunday night was a real kind gentleman. His excellent service, great attention, and awesome professionalism are to be very highly commended. We also talked a little bit with the waitress that was taking care of another table and she was also very pleasant and friendly. Muchisimas gracias a los dos por su colaboracion y muy agradable actitud!Thank you very much for your visit and taking your time for writing on our space on TripAdvisor. Truly a pleasure being able to serve you.Glad our team took care of your orders with kindly and excellent service, and also that you enjoyed your meals.Hope to have you in during your next visit to Costa Rica! Pura vida!!!
