Overlooking the beautiful ocean under a huge palapa roof is the buffet or menu service of Azul. The buffet area is impeccably clean. The foods are kept at proper temperatures and checked regularly. Hot foods are in an area, cold in another area. Many items are already plated on small dishes. A variety of bread and cheeses are offered, a salad area, seafood buffet and so many choices. The food is not your typical buffet but high quality & calibre of food. A pasta area, and so so much more. The service is also impeccable, the waiters will explain the foods though they have signs saying what each is, they will carry your plate to your set, get your drinks, always with a smile and they will go up to the buffet for you for that second seafood cocktail or whatever it is you must have. You can also order off the menu and have full service sit down meal. Casual attire and no reservations needed. Eddie's was recommended by the hotel. We walked there, at 5 pm. Basically empty. Two people sitting outside, we chose to go in as it was hot and humid (we from AZ). We were alone in a room with 10 tables. The waiter was acceptable but looked tired. I had shrimp tacos. Eh... Wife had coconut shrimp she liked, but stomach issues the next day. I don't know what to tell you.... Suffice it to say, we were not impressed at all.

What a beautiful setting! We had a great weather day when we ate there. The food is delicious and the drinks are tasty. The cost is amazing inexpensive. From the outdoor seating area you have a front row view of the beautiful harbor. Had dinner here on our last night at the Grand Mayan. Need to take taxi for 110 pesoes($6) unfortunately. Appetizer (complimentary) was very nice. I irdered soup and a butter garlic shrimp dinner. Wife ordered combo shrimp dinner. Food was very good. Unfortunately waiter misunderstood and did not order my entre for some reason. No matter. Wife shared her large plate gladly. Very nice covered restaurant and not overly crowded.

This restaurant offers breakfast buffet from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It is difficult to describe adequately the variety of offerings, many of which would be suitable for dinner. It has traditional omelet stations, fruit, pancakes, waffles, crepes, egg dishes and hot and cold meats and cheeses. The empanada station had 4-5 varieties cooked fresh. Many breads and some dessert offerings also were provided along with sushi and ceviche offerings and some stir fry. There is even a special area offering gluten free products. It is a very large restaurant which is open air, but offers covered and outdoor seating. Table service is exceptional, and the price is very moderate. If you attend a sales presentation, you can also get 2 for 1 dining here which makes it inexpensive considering the quality and quantity of offerings. For seating, we suggest the middle section of the covered area as it has the best fans and a small fountain which helps when you are there during hot weather.Appreciated golfer_diner, Thanks for sharing your one of a kind experience in our resort. We only ate dinner at the restaurant so I can't comment on any of the other menus Dinner is a wide variety of Mexican dinner options. Super cool little family owned restaurant off the beaten path stuck between the freeway and Nuevo Vallarta and the overwhelming mega-hotel... Truly would not expect this place to exist.
