Definitely the place to go for a special occasion / celebration. Such a huge variety of wines to choose from and delectable food to go with it. Beautiful decor and ambience. Excellent customer service and attention to detail. Dress up and make your special occassion even extra special at Verdicchio.

This is a truly authentic family run Italian restaurant, relatively small but very personal with a lovely ambience. It was a lovely evening so we chose a table in the garden. We did, however, notice the two fireplaces for winter, which means we will be back then to check it out. One of our personal highlights of the evening was the polenta chips served soon after arrival - well worth visiting Stelle's just for this speciality! My calamari was superb while my lovely wife had the Bresaola which was also excellent (I had to taste it). For mains she had the Straccetti di Filetto - a shredded grilled fillet with mushrooms - which she raved about. I had the rabbit ravioli which was incredibly good and super tasty. The service was excellent and personable with a personal touch. We will definitely be back!

A cold and rainy night in Johannesburg? Easily rectified by a visit to the local Italian restaurant in Craighall, Pronto, for some hearty and delicious pasta. This firm favourite deserves its place as one of our go-to restaurants. Consistent quality and excellent service explain the full tables every night. We chose Linguine; Dolce Latte for him, and chicken with spinach, rocket and pine nuts for me. Both were creamy, flavorful and delicious. A ricotta salad completed the feast. We enjoyed Cilantros from the moment we were met at the door. Friendly and efficient staff, snappy service and great value for money. Our meals were tasty and the portion sizes spot-on. Highly recommended in a quaint decor setting! An enjoyable evening all round.

We went to a show on Saturday and wanted a meal in Monte Casino after checking out TripAdvisor who rated at 4.5 stars. Menu choice was disappointing, limited selection to choose from especially the pasta / pizza options. One of our group ordered Calamari but they could offer rice as a starch, only fries or mash potatoes. I requested an alcohol free beer they had no stock. Ordered water instead and the waitron brought a 750ml bottle for a single person. Service was slow and we had to ask for the bill to get to our show in time. Would I recommend this to other diners, unlikely ! The only attraction for a quick fast food type meal is the location. I decided to go out for lunch at cresta mall,though when i left home didn't know which restaurant i was going to eat in so i called my friend and then he suggested we go to Plaka. when we got there the staff was very friendly and professional,and we were hosted by Thabo who was very friendly and extreme professional he suggested a few of small dishes that we enjoyed so much. we had a wonderful experience and very eager to go back there soon. This is just next to Nelson Mandela square and you can have a nice lunch or dinner with watching the people who visits Nelson Mandela.I tried sea food plate with all fresh and tasty choices inside.Fish ,calamari ,prawns and mussels.The house wine was very good and cold .Service is very quick and friendly.Prices are reasonable and good.

This place promotes itself as a premium restaurant. Don't be fooled by the fake advertising. Its noisy and overpriced. We went for an evening with business partners. We could hardly talk to each other as the noise level in the restaurant as determined by a Cell noise level app was 86 decibels. That's like sitting by a very noisy road.The food was very average. My T-Bone stake was nothing more than a Rump with bone on two sides. Roast potatoes were soggy and the puree completely missing. All this for R350.00!! Rip off. When I complained to the floor manager he simply did not comprehend that a T-Bone stake should have meat on both sides of the T.The cutlery on the tables was basic canteen standard. I would have had a better experience at a franchise restaurant at a third of the price.

A brightly lit, fast-paced, and very loud restaurant. We chose this restaurant based upon its reputation and were disappointed. Rather than an elegant and relaxing evening we were rushed the entire evening by an overly aggressive waiter who seemed to want to get rid of us as soon as possible. The food was only average. One example would be the grilled kingclip that had no indication of being grilled. There were no grill marks nor flavor. Overall, our visit was quite disappointing.
