We visit this place several times a year, for many years, and sometimes eat very well .Since I know that the management read and comment reviews extensively. Usually they completely deny any flaws on their part. So,let's see....Service is usually charming and efficient. Location idem. That's why we keep coming. Last night's polpette of dry cod were delicious. But ,the strozzapreti with smoked fish,in a slimy goo, practically tasteless, (apart from the smokey pieces), and cold.Bread served with the meal was stale. How difficult is it to put it in the oven for 3min.?Grilled fish again excellent, apart from the way they serve it, on a grill that fits badly on their tiny tables. Since they don't exactly charge little, I feel they owe it to their clientele to pay a little more attention to quality and detail. When five of their regular customers have exactly unanimous complaints, I feel that, instead of writing a complete denial ,they can do some rethinking and check the taste of what ends up on their tables.We would really regret to have to change our habit of coming to Boca Barranca.Dear Guest,thank you for the trust you have given to us over time and for the appreciation you show to our service and the location.As you pointed out, we read comments and, if we are given the opportunity through accurate reviews, we like to give the necessary explanations. For this reason, we were a little bit puzzled to read that we deny any shortcomings: we always apologize when it is right to do so, even if we would prefer that our guests talk to us in person before resorting to TripAdvisor.Our prices, always well exposed, are commensurate with the quality we like to offer to those who choose us. We pay a lot of attention to details and it is precisely for this reason that we have chosen to serve grilled fish on custom-made grills that have been designed together with an artisan... rather than low quality it seems to us a matter of personal taste that we obviously respect. After reading your review, we spoke with the staff, but we didn't receive five unanimous complaints at the same time. Of course we regret that you were not satisfied like the other times and we hope you can still keep this beautiful custom of coming back to visit us. We eat here often with friends because service is good, there is always fresh local fish, vast wine list and the prices are honest. It's the restaurant where local people eat because the quality is guaranteed. Saturday and Sundays are the busiest.

If you are on holiday from the UK (or anywhere else for that matter) and near to the northern Ravenna beaches then this should be your primary destination. This beachfront restaurant has a charm that is frequently missing from most similar establishments that I have visited in Italy - and I have travelled all over the country for the past forty years. You will not find here the tacky, superficial commercialism of other bagni but instead a relaxed family atmosphere where you are treated very much like a friend or visiting relative rather than a tourist - indeed tourists are scarce here, the main clientele is Italian - always a good recommendation. The facilities are excellent with sunbeds, umbrellas, changing areas and showers - those with small children will be delighted with the abundance of play area activities and equipment, situated close to the bar/restaurant where they can easily be observed. The food is exceptional and reasonably priced in view of the large portions. The fish is always fresh and cooked to perfection - the menu is varied and changes daily depending on the availability of a fresh catch. The pasta is made in-house and you can always find some truly delicious speciality, often from Sardinia - I recently tried the Seadas, a sort of cheese and saffron filled fritter served with orange and honey - absolutely divine. At the weekend during high season there are frequent evening food events with live music which have a real party atmosphere. The genial hosts, Barbara and Danilo take pride in what they offer to visitors and strive to ensure that your visit is a happy one - Barbara incidentally speaks very good English as do some of the other members of staff so if your Italian is poor you will not struggle to be understood. I have read the other reviews of this establishment and can only conclude that people like 'Ventoso5' and 'Mario C' suffer from the same insularity that many other Italians do and no doubt their rigid views are defined by their own preferred locales outside of which they rarely step unless out of absolute necessity. They are, however, entitled to their opinions but I would urge any potential visitor to ignore their reviews and listen to the other, and by far the majority, of excellent reviews.

We picked this place at the seaside based on Tripadvisor comments and we were not disappointed: super fresh fish, friendly and personal service and perfect wine suggestions.Not a trendy or snobbish place maybe, but who cares to sit on plastic chairs when you spend such a nice evening?Dear guest, thankâs a lot for your nice review. Having just spent 3 days in the city with 2 youngish children this was a lovely friendly restaurant / cafe. Costas our waiter was outstanding and we give all credit to him for us returning. The food was good (we definitely recommend the dumplings!), fast and tasty. The atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed and helpful (especially regarding portion size for the children). We had pizzas, pasta, hamburger and chips and yummy small donuts! The photos on trip adviser are really old and do not represent the current updated decoration.
