We dined at Mythos last night, we have eaten at this lovely family run taverna on many occasions and we have always been delighted with the food and the service. Last night was no exception, I had the pork loin chops, which were succulent and juicy and my Husband had the steak, which was cooked to perfection. The quality and quantity of the food is always first class, every dish is beautifully presented and nothing is to much trouble. We also love the ambiance of this taverna, it has a good central position over the square and is often lively and bustling. We will be returning again and again.

The reviews are true! Very relaxed place, great atmosphere. Good value! A bit of a walk down the beach but worth it. Large car park for car drivers. Toilets clean. Chips and small pies delicious!

We stopped here twice and both had the cocktail of the day, which at 5 euros each was pretty much a bargain.It's opposite the beach (and it's a section of their own private beach). You can see the monastery on the headland and fishing boats coming and going.Service is typically Greek so don't be in a rush, just soak up the relaxed lifestyle.

Stayed here in 2016, and 2019. Rooms are lovely, clean, comfortable [coffee machine!] - handy to the 2 beaches [1 min walk] and town square [1 min walk] - Restaurant is amazing. One of the best we've ever found in Crete. The lamb baked in the oven is like a religious experience...so good. Highly recommended.

We went in here because of how many people were all ready dining and the varied menu. The service was good and friendly enough but without the personable experience you get in most Greek family restaurants. The saganaki is excellent as is the carbonara. I had the lamb chops which were plentiful and a lovely flavour though a little chewy and the mixed grill was good with especially good pork chop. The drinks are what you would expect though we ordered more they never came so decided to get the bill and leave. I would definitely visit again and we had a pleasant evening with fairly priced food and drink.

Nice fish, freshly caught each day. Be careful what you ask for because it will mount up rapidly. I resent having to pay for 'extras' like salad, chips etc when you are paying for an expensive fish in the first place. House wine, ok ish. Service etsi ketsi. You will find better value restaurants in the town though.

Vasilikos is a wonderful restaurant with a varied menu and a nice view of the bay. The food is excellent and good value and the owner, Elefeteria, is an exceptional host, always friendly and welcoming and along with her brother do take their time to make your visit enjoyable. As we donât eat meat our personal favourites are the Swordfish(xifias)souvlaki, Salmon pasta,Seafood pasta and the Vasilkos salad, but the menu caters for all tastes. Very busy at times but worth the wait for a table.

Based upon past TripAdvisor reviews, we selected Babis Taverna for an early dinner. And we are incredibly glad we did. After a hearty welcome from Stelios we ordered the Beet Root with Garlic Sauce; Fried Aubergines ((fried eggplants in a tempura-like batter, fantastic!); oven-baked Feta with peppers, onion and tomato sauce. The Beet Root salad was simply amazing: sliced beets sat in a sea of blasamic vinegar and olive oil which, alone, was fantastic. Alongside with the beets in the plate was the most scrumptious rich garlic sauce we have ever had. When we finished, the plate was practically bone dry, we'd sopped up everything! Well done! The feta in the oven was inspired! We ate it with bread and also on top of the fried aubergines and both were simply wonderful! These were just the appetizers!For mains, I ordered the Papoutzakia which was delicious but, we were so full from the delicious appetizers (all their remnants soaked up with a bountiful bread basket), I could only eat half ... iit was truly delicious. My companion ordered the lamb chops and they were truly some of the best ever. All loin lollipops, perfectly spiced and cooked.We were just completely stuffed. Everything was high quality, beautifully prepared and presented. We had been, up to yesterday, three weeks in Crete and eaten at many wonderful restaurants. So far, considering all of them, this meal was the most delicious ... each and everything stood on its own in its perfection but, together, this meal was one we will remember (and compare others to) for a very long time.The young man, Stelios, our waiter, was really friendly and so proud of their cooking. And it is easy to see why â the food is truly outstanding, one of the absolutel best we have had in Crete, hands down!We would recommend this restaurant again and again. The food is just absolutely delicious, each and everything we ate was top quality ingredients, preparation and presentation! I hope we have a chance to return before we leave!

Great restaurant, a nice combination of traditional greek food with a home cooked delicious note and an elegant lounge bar feeling. Gorgeous view, great fish, romantic, yet perfect for families, because of the lovely play area. Classy decor and comfy seating. Very attentive and friendly staff. I would gladly come again any time.
