The word "Bad" means "spa" or "baths", while "Wiessee" derives from "Westsee", meaning "western part of the lake". Bad Wiessee was first documented in 1017 in the tax book of the Tegernsee Abbey, encouraged to pay goods to the abbey.

This restaurant is AMAZING! The food, wine, service and the View of the lake are wonderful. I have been there several times with family and friends during my holidays and all were more than happy. I love the Italian atmosphere, the waiters are very friendly and actually due to their lovely Italian way funny, too. ristorante Carrera is definitely worth a visit! You will not regret it! We were looking some reasonable place to eat simple and fast. The place is pleasent and the staff is very friendly. First my soup was a "gulasch" soup what - if you do not compare to the origin - was very tasty as a stew could be. Then salmon with special german paste (maultasche) was delicious like the similar foods in Italy. The price range is good. Missing the draft beer (bier von Fass).

This restaurant was recommended to us by locals. It opens at 17:30.We were in the mood for schnitzel. I had the regular portion and myHusband had the "RiesengroÃe" size which translated is "huge" and itWas. It took up the whole plate! The dinner was wonderful. It cameWith a lovely little appetizer and a fresh salad then the main dish.The only problem is that we were so full we had to take some home.Would definitely come back here again to eat! I would recommendReservations as it isn't that large inside. We were lucky the night weCame and there was room for us.

Unfortunately cannot judge the food in this Cafe. We were consequently ignored by waiters passing by. After 15 min, hungry and disappointed we left. It wasnât full. BTW People at the next table received not what they have ordered. Cafe is located in a beautiful house, it has a nice garden and it is really a pity that we felt unwelcome.Dear guests,we are sorry we couldnât fulfill your expectations regarding your visit at our Westerhof-Cafe im Stieler-Haus. We are awfully sorry and please apologize for such a disappointing experience. Please give us the possibility, explaining how this could have happened. Especially on Sundays it can get suddenly busy for our service staff as they have to take care of our guests on both, our wintergarden and terrace. As even in busy times our biggest aim is to serve our guests freshly made coffees and dishes a few minutes can pass by before we are ready to serve our guests one after another. Since you left after 5-10 minutes we unfortunately did not have the chance to let you witness our friendly and professional customer service. We warmly invite you to another visit to convince you that usually at our Westerhof-Cafe the beautiful setting of the building goes hand in hand with customer-orientated service and obliging staff. The bar/restaurant is on the side of the hotel. Small place, I would say 20 pax, small open kitchen. The menu is small but all is made with fresh ingredients. The wine card is good as well. We enjoyed our evening much and had good food. A must visit when you are around. I strongly recommend.

we turned up without a reservation on a busy evening but were found a nice table by a helpfull waiter, the table also had a wonderfull view of the lake,They were very helpfull also, with the menu as my German is non existant, the food was excellent ,all in all a nice place to eat

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon Andrebar exploring Tegernsee in the glorious sunshine last weekend. I canât tell you how glad we were to get lunch here. We were seated on a really cute, beach feel, outside terrace and served by a really nice guy who was super helpful. We both went for burgers and country potatoes. The burgers were out of this world. My Mexico burger was the best burger Iâve ever had and I work and live in Central London, there are a lot of burgers available here. It was huge, when it arrived I wondered how I was going to eat it all but it tasted so good I couldnât not. The house jalapeño sauce is outrageously good. The wedges were delicious also.Beer and Hugoâs were good and reasonably priced for Tegernsee.I would recommend this place without a second breath!

During summer holidays we want to enjoy every lunch and dinner, therefore I read plenty of reviews in Tripadvisor and in most cases it helps, but not this time. I know pizzeria/trattoria Da Francesco since many years and you could not predict if they cook today tasty or poor. This month we were not lucky, salads and pasta tasted like food in the office canteen, when you eat it because no other choice left, and you convince yourself that food is OK and there are plenty places where food is even worse. No reason to come again, there are so really good places on Tegernsee!
