When we were driving on our way to Asahiyama Zoo, we saw this shop by the road side. When we reached lunch time at Asahiyama Zoo, we went to the cafe and discovered nothing special and interesting. Thus, we drove out and went to this restaurant! It was a great choice we made! When we stepped in, we were surprised the inner atmosphere. It was full of local people and we waited for awhile for our table! There were antique radios and big cartoon icons at the counter and entrance. There were many signatures on the wall next to entrance, i believe those famous visited this restaurant. We ordered their Asahikawa miso ramen and pork cutlet curry noodle. Their menu has English. While waiting for our order to be served, there is free coffee but self service. The ramen are great! We like it! Worth to visit this restaurant!

This place has the best chicken in Hokkaido. Think of KFC with actual chicken, no grease, no fat and a tantalisingly delicious batter. Served with Japanese style flair and efficiency!!(So nothing like KFC)

Stopped by the way to asahidake for lunch. Delicious pork bowl and tempura don. The pork was flavourful. Tempura prawn and fish were fresh. Warm food on a rainy day. Cost only 1650 yen for 2 persons. Restaurant looks modern and clean. Customers seem like local working people. Free parking at side road outside restaurant. Staff cannot speak English but friendly. Menu has pictures so that helps a lot.
