Found out about this place simply by accident. Happy that I did. Amazing customer service, like everyone else said, hole in the wall place. We ordered three of their best plates( cheviche, seafood fried rice, beef saltado), just didn't want to take a chance for first time. We will come back here for many times. Food is very tasty but not heavy with fat.

Inaba Steakhouse Garden Restaurant

There are three levels of steakhouses to choose from. You have the base level cheap diner type steakhouse, such as Denny's and Norms - cheap and whose sole purpose is to satisfy your carnivorous cravings. Then are are the regular steakhouses that specializes in steaks, such as Black Angus and Outback. Then you have the premium steakhouses that caters to steak connoisseurs, such as Ruth's Chris and Fleming's. Inaba Steakhouse falls somewhere on the upper spectrum between the premium and "regular" steakhouses, not quite yet "premium" but unique on its own and with a Japanese twist. The restaurants is located in a strip mall in south Torrance/Palos Verdes border. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the interior harbors a cozy atmosphere and is very romantic. There's no doubt in my mind that the steaks served here is fantastic. The price commanded for a dinner for two with a bottle of red wine is not cheap, about $150 excluding tip. This includes an albacore cappricio appetizer, two plates of 6 oz prime rib eye and a glass of 10 year old port for dessert. The presentation of our rib eye steaks was fantastic. It arrived in a sizzling plate, similar to Ruth's Chris, with oil still sizzling and splattering all over the plate and immediate area. Because of this, I recommend moving away or cover yourself with a handkerchief as soon as your steak arrives. The rib eye steak is served with sliced white onion, 3 cuts of wild mushrooms, some vegetables and their house steak sauce. Exquisitely delectable in both presentation and taste. If you have deeper pockets, I read that their 3oz Wagyu beef, yes, you read correct - 3oz! (authentic and rare imported kobe beef from Japan) is worth the $65.00 they charge for dinner. Since Wagyu beef is imported, they sporadic in terms of availability. The service could use some work, but our waitress showed us that she was eager to serve us. No overall complaints about service for us. We'll definitely return. If you're a steak connoisseur and want to experience steak from a different perspective, I recommend giving Inaba Steakhouse a try!

Iccho Restaurant

Iccho is an excellent izakaya style restaurant with an extensive menu, although they also have full dinners featuring tempura, teriyaki, sushi and all the other standards of Japanese food in the US. The menu might be bewildering for those not familiar with this type of cuisine. Don't expect to get much help on ordering from the wait staff, who turn over frequently, and often speak minimal English. But, if you know what you want, Iccho measures up well. As is often the case in Japanese restaurants, service ranges from awful to acceptable, so don't let that put you off.

Lady at counter felt like an auntie taking our order. She was very friendly and accommodating. The food was good and pretty authentic. Portions are just right and not overwhelming. I could tell this place is popular with South Bay locals because it was the weekend and the tables were almost all full including those with customers waiting for take out orders. We ordered loco moco, bacon fried rice, spam musubi and a saimin dish. All were tasty and hit the spot. I did hope for more bacon in my fried rice but what can you do when you have take out. Parking entrance is near the local wok restaurant on Vista Montana or at the back along Newton. There is plenty of parking once you find this hidden strip mall.

If you have had 100% buckwheat soba in Japan’s country side restaurants from Nagano all the way to Niigata. The search to repeat that experience even in Los Angels’ very Asian influenced dinning scene is fertile. For the next best thing, Ichimi-An is your sure bet. This is a smaller location from its larger sibling in Torrance that has both a sushi bar and a tempura bar. This Ichimi-An is most suitable for a meal with the family, a quick lunch/dinner and of course to have your craving of soba satisfied. Their donburi, various rice bowls with either tempura or sashimi toppings are also formidable. Ichimi-An has their buck wheat refrigerated in container and shipped over from Japan and the noodles are made fresh daily.
