After visiting an Onsen (which was closed due to bad weather!!) we felt quite a bit hungry and we still had time until our train went back to Maebashi.Not far, just a few meters on the left of the train station, we found this little Ramen Shop. There were some locals inside and no english menu....a good sign!We just went for some basic Ramen and some Gyoza. The Gyoza were good. The Ramen had a very good broth and nice flavours. Could have done without the corn though. But surely a good bowl of Ramen....one of the better ones we had on our Japan-trip!The service/chef was very nice and friendly. It's a nice little place with a cozy, local atmosphere. So, if you're in town, this place is surely a good option!Wanna know more about me and my travels? The owner/chef is passionate and imaginative about food, and this translates into delicious dishes. It's Japanese cuisine with some variations and a strong seasonal touch, for example chestnut cake in the autumn. The room is plain and simple; the place is genuine as is the food. If you're lucky you can watch the chef making buckwheat (soba) noodles. Great catering available too, as I was happy to enjoy at a large party recently, where they set up a beautiful buffet in a rustic style and prepared fresh tempura.

Delicious and quite affordable! We come to this restaurant once / season as they have seasonal kamameshi. I love their japanese style wagyu/ steak with ginger or teriyaki sauce and chestnut ice-cream.Call for reservation before you decide to visit,it is often packed.

The chef cooks a variety of cutlets, fish and seafood dishes. We had the pork fillet cutlet set, with a very nice entrée of vegetables, and a superb orange-yogurt sherbet for dessert. Pleasant and clean ambience, very friendly and professional staff; no English. They also offer takeout bento options for 300 Yen off the menu price.

We wish to have just ebi tempura and soup. It turned out we had two big fat tempura and delicious soba which its soup is superb.

Huge pile of delicious soba and wonderful tempura. No soggy, oily food in sight. The long line waiting for a table and the contented sighs of happy diners says they've got it right.
