When we arrived at the nearby Villa Montanarini where we were to spend Sunday night and discovered that their restaurant was closed, we were referred to Trattoria al Lago Verde. I was traveling with my daughter and son-in-law and we all enjoyed the entire meal, including the wine recommended by the waiter. The pasta with white truffles was better than any we tasted during our subsequent three days in Alba. Among other complimentary touches offered, the host brought out grappa-marinated cherries and apricots (prepared on the premises) at the end of the meal. The surroundings and decor were attractive and welcoming, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff were outstanding.

Locale un po' vintage ma senza eccessi; ambiente rilassante e ottimamente suddiviso per quanto riguarda l' ottima sistemazione dei tavoli che permette di conversare senza problemi; menù orientato ai piatti e gusti locali ma in un contesto dove la qualità e la freschezza degli affettati, dei primi con pasta fresca di loro produzione e secondi di carne primeggia ; il tutto con una ottima scelta di vini ben consigliati dalla brava padrone di casa ; rapporto prezzo/qualità davvero ottimo ; bravi

Fantastic food. Location is even better than 2 yrs ago (Cavallino Bianco). Service and food is #1 price is also resonable! Can only recommend! I will take my customers here in the near future as better than other local restaurants in both service and quality. Highly recommend the home made fried Aubergine and Chocolate salami!!

Finalmente abbiamo provato questa nota trattoria nella pianura Reggiana a contatto con il Mantovano. Consigliamo, come ci suggerisce la proprietà ,largo anticipo nella prenotazione. Locale che allâesterno non presenta nessuna insegna e se non si conosce la numerazione civica si fatica a trovarlo. Allâ interno si respira già aria di genuinità e di cordialita. Sui tavoli, tutti prenotati, sono presenti antipastini vari che mettono subito appetito. In breve tempo arrivano tigelle calde che si accompagnano benissimo agli antipastini. Abbiamo saltato i primi per poter degustare un assaggio di carni, specialità per cui il locale è conosciuto. Ci è arrivato un misto di carni una più deliziosa dellâaltra.... Câerano degli spiedini di maiale e di fassona, tagliata di cavallo e di bovino...accompagnati da verdura cruda mista e patate arrosto. Carne molto tenera e saporita compresa la splendida costata di fassona che ci eâ arrivata subito dopo.Per finire una menzione particolare al carrello dei dolci. Alla vista una meraviglia....ma anche al palato. Porzioni abbondantissime....lasciatevi guidare....una delizia per il palato!! Conto assolutamente onesto: 30 euro a persona. Servizio attento e cortese.Bravi!!

Great location as we sat on the outdoor enclosed patio overseeing the square and castle. We went for a few specialties while enjoying a local Lambrusco. The owner and the chef were very accommodating to our time and desires and had some great suggestions. We started with some of the local cold cuts with the gnocco fritto (filling) as well as grana with the spiciest fruit mustard (to be tried!) we then moved to a risotto with amarone, also quite good, very reasonable prices and assiduous service

Due stelle solo per la pizza, bella, bellissima. Il fritto di pesce é bellissimo e buono.Il locale é bello e non troppo caotico, moderno ed elegante. La carne.... N.c. Una tagliata di Angus sul menù, nel piatto 80gr di carne fritta, unta... poteva essere anche maiale, tanto era fritta. 18⬠spesi veramente male... Ed avevo ovviamente fame. Meno male che avevo ordinato le verdure grigliate, buone, Quindi le griglia c'è ! Spero che ogni tanto la usino anche per la carne. Comunque ci tornerò, per la pizza ovviamente.

Romantic dinner in Reggiolo with great fish dishes.Here you can enjoy a good bottle of wine, under the suggestions of the sommelier, and taste delicious dishes with a good value for money.The portions reflects the location where you are dining so they are not big but, in comparison with similar restaurant, just right! If you happen to be around Gonzaga or Reggiolo (Reggio Emilia) find the time to try this local restaurant : Pleasantly and professionally run, the menu is entirely of local recepies. The pumkin tortelli are fabulous, the "guancia di maiale", (pork cheek) just superb. Must have a Lambrusco during the meal. Have the sbrodolona for desert.
