This picturesque Umbrian city has a history that spans many eras. The city wall and arch are Etruscan; the sixth-century Sant'Angelo church was built atop a Roman temple; the town's cathedral is both Gothic and Renaissance. If you have a sweet tooth, visit the famous Perugina chocolate factory; if you have a full set of sweet teeth, visit during the Eurochocolate festival, held in October, when the entire town reportedly smells of chocolate.

Restaurant recently moved from Panicarola to Perugia, only about a 10-15 minutes difference. This is the old TA listing.......https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g194721-d2626886-Reviews-DivinPeccato-Castiglione_del_Lago_Province_of_Perugia_Umbria.htmlThe new location is absolutely exquisite. Mirko is a great host and has done a marvelous job in the new setting, which can handle weddings and other events. Outdoor seating is large and comfortable with a country club feel. You sit poolside by candlelight (beware of bugs!) and have plenty off space and privacy. We visited on a July 2017 Saturday and he was packed. Couples and large groups enjoying the setting and food. Staff was friendly as always. The inside looked nice and perhaps during our winter return we will need to dine indoors. Do not be deceived by the confusing TA rating which stems from them moving....This is by far a top 5 restaurant in the Lago Trasimeno area and honestly, I would recommend and compare this to any other nearby eatery.

We booked lunch for nine of us; online booking was easy and very efficient. Finding the Relais wasn't so easy (ignore Google maps and follow the brown road signs to the Relais instead) but once discovered, the situation is pleasant with some good views, despite being near Perugia Airport. We had a drink overlooking a pretty swimming pool and garden and ate inside where the waiter was attentive and helpful. Food was a little slow in coming but good and beautifully served. It was quite expensive - the bill came as a total without any breakdown of different courses, wine etc. That should be changed.

TL;DR - absolutely amazing food (both well-presented and superbly tasty), and service to match. The owners of the restaurant dropped us off to our hotel which was 7 miles away!Full review - My girlfriend and I walked to this restaurant from the airport: a precarious and poorly-planned journey. However, it was worth it for this institution. The owner greeted us at the door, took our coats and bags, and sat us at a table surrounded by gorgeous art. We enjoyed a selection of olive oils served with bread como antipasti: the owner and waiter came with six bottles of olive oil from all over Italy, ranked them from lightest to strongest and explained their origin. We sampled each with bread. The last bottle was especially stunning as it was handmade from their house in Sicily, with a refreshing taste that I did not know was possible to infuse into oil. For mains, I tucked into a sumptuous monkfish dish, whilst my girlfriend enjoyed a gingery fish soup, both of which were beautiful. My dish was served with an alcoholic pumpkin-like sauce, broccoli pieces, mozzarella slices, watercress, bacon cooked to perfection and dried currants - flavours that I would never have dreamed of combining, but worked so well that I have decided to try and duplicate them at home. The winelist was complex and rich, and too daunting for me, so I asked the owner to choose us a nice, deep red. His selection was predictably excellent. Finally, we asked the owner for the best way to reach the city centre. He conducted some research, informed us of train and taxi options, but then came to the decision to drive us and our luggage to the hotel. I was simply awestruck by such kindness. This is the best dining experience I have ever had outside of my own country. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The menu changes monthly.

Once you step in, you realize that this is a friendly establishment, one in which you start talking to the person you did not know before sitting at the next table. They have nice salumi, wonderful cheese selection and good wine. They are young and willing to build a name and you should go and visit them. They claim that they do not have a restaurant license and you need to step to the counter and take the order, clean the table after you are done or before in case the others did not do it for you. Also you have plastic forks and glasses. It did not bother me, it actually brings a taste of coziness to the place and makes it informal. The few points that makes me give them 3 out of 5.- The cheese selection was good. But most of the cheese seemed to be the same cheese with different fillings (peperoncino, truffle, nuts). At one point it becomes boring to taste the same cheese. Also, there were some other more interesting formaggi in the fridge but we did not get them... not sure of how they make their tagleri.- I can understand that it is not a restaurant, but if the table is dirty there should be no law restraining you from cleaning it before the new patrons arrive. Place was not crowded.- Place closes at 11PM. The guy at the bar started to seal the salumis at 10:20. Probably he would have unsealed it had we wished to order some meat. But I still think that the host needs to clean up after the guests leave. Debate-able, I know. I may be emphasizing this for the wrong reasons.- I found pieces of plastic in my mouth from the confiture. I kept thinking that they could have come from the broken plastic forks of previous clients and that ruined my night. Again, maybe I am over-reacting and this was in the confiture from the beginning, but still it does not help the review.

We arrived at Perugia and drove to the look out to get a good look over the town. We took a few photos and then the weather fell apart. We ended up sitting with a coffee in the Piazza waiting for the rain to clear but then gave up and took a tour on the hop on hop off buss to fill in time. It is a beautiful town and I would like to return when the weather is a bit better but we did have a look at the underground town. This is a university town and we had a nice talk to some students from Chicago while waiting for the weather to clear. Can't wait to return.

Family owned, we were immediately greeted by the proprietess. She and her great staff were able to guide us in having one of the best dinners on our visit to Umbria. If you want traditional Umbrian cuisine, this is the place to dine.Be forewarned; it is down a graveled road, and can be somewhat difficult to find. easy to miss the turn off, so pay attention! Disappointing overrated restaurant! Food quality poor, wait staff condescending and arrogant, and service out of kitchen was slow. The pasta was ordinary, chicken fine, but the featured specialty, manso (steak) i tartufo. was less than 2 ounces of tough, sinewy, partly inedible thin slices of rare beef. We requested the waiter to decant the (12 year-old) wine but he began filling the glasses. We asked twice before he reluctantly decanted the wine, but then he took the bottle with at least ¾ of an inch of the remaining wine into the kitchen before eventually returning the now empty bottle. We can only surmise that this restaurant is for tourist and not frequented by return customers who actually expect quality Italian cuisine.
