Came across this restaurant last week while working in Italy. I do not speak Italian, and they didn't speak much English. But a fun and entertaining time was had trying to decide what food was available. Google translate did help when we did manage to get internet.The food was excellent, but the staff really make this a very special place that I will remember for a very long time. This restaurant is rated Number 2 of 3 in Taurano (Tripadvisor), but I dread to think what Number 3 must be like! The restaurant is spacious, clean and looks like it has been recently built/refurbished, but unfortunately the food doesnât match the environment. We ordered the mellanzane parmigiana as a starter and it came in 6 small jars and was quite bland. Three of us ordered steaks for our main course. The pepper steak was good - large and very tender - but the grilled steaks (rib-eyes) were indifferent. Mine was fine, but my colleague could only eat half of his - too much fat. My wife had the pork, which looked less-appetising than shoe leather and the taste matched the appearance. We didnât bother with a dessert. Altogether a very disappointing experience.

Nestled right at the foot of the stairs past the church and first on the beach is located La Pergola. Shaded by a leafy roof this busy spot still provides friendly excellent service. My friend ordered the local tomato ravioli, which was excellent, another the chicken breast, while I had the grilled mixed seafood which was good. Most important of the Casa House wine is good and cheap, which flowed freely as one admired the beached bathing beauties.

We found this place quite by accident on a road trip to visit the shrine of S. Philomena. The town was quite sparse considering the season. Only on other group was present.The wait staff and owner were very kind. There is really no set menu. They offer daily plates. The day we arrived, there were different plates that played with mushrooms and pork.We asked for the house red. They gave us a bottle from Puglia. I asked why, and they said that Napolitano wines are dry and many non-Napolitano guests don't really care for them. I was impressed by their consideration and the wine was delicious.We had a pasta plate and a meat plate. The servings are small, but absolutely delicious. Since the plates change constantly, I will not review each, but will offer some comments about the culinary skill. The pasta was perfect al dente. Each plate was presented as a medley of different flavors and each plate delivered. No one flavor out did the other. You could taste each ingredient and the combinations were very tasty.In the end, I was very grateful for their lovely atmosphere (minus the music that was a little loud and not exactly my taste) and gracious welcome. The service was impeccable. The Osteria is a perfect place for couples, groups of friends, and even big groups if you call ahead and make arrangements. If I go back to the shrine, I would certainly call ahead and arrange to do so at a time I could eat here.

Buona pizza... locale rimodernato... peccato manchi di organizzazione.... non si può ordinare una pizza alle 20.30 (ritiro ) e averla alle 21.10.... non va proprio bene... speriamo migliorino in questo

Ebbene sì..letteralmente nelle loro mani..vi catturano intorno alle 13 e liberano..se vi va bene alle 18,00..e con solo 25 euro vi sommergono di cibo, compreso vino, dolce.. e che dolce..e liquorino finale -alla faccia del gourmet- veramente ospitali e con il culto del bis..se non avete la puzzetta (sotto al naso) e amate le zuppette..provatelo e mi ringrazierete. Consigliato munirsi di bandiera bianca per arrendersi al cibo. Ottimo per bambini.

After visiting Lauro, our group headed to Taurano to eat at Ristorante ePizzeria Pace tea gli Ulivi. We arrived at dusk, so had just a small window of opportunity to view the spectacular view, but were then treated to the sparkling lights at night.The restaurant is beautiful inside, terrazzo floors, cool white walls with blue and yellow accents...and of course the wall of windows overlooking the surrounding valley. Since we were a larger group, we were served family style. Dinner started off with an Aperol apertif. Sadly, I remember very little other than the phenomenal trofie pasta with porcini mushroom sauce. Food of the gods!!!! There was another pasta course..tubes with eggplant and tomato? We were also served a plated course of grilled pork chop, a sausage and bitter salad greens of arugula and radicchio which complemented the grilled meats.Dessert was a cheesecake topped with a red currant sauce and finished our meal with coffee.Service was excellent, ambiance and view terrific...and the pasta? Superb!!!!

Nn ci sono paragoni.....pizza buonissima.... frittatine di maccheroni ottime io consiglio quelle con i porcini .... trovi sempre un dolce in vetrina buonissimo ..ingredienti tutti di prima scelta cortesia .... se hai qlc dubbio ti spiega e ti da qlc consiglio nn è geloso delle ricette .... che dire provate e mi darete 100 x 100 ragione e ....

For a restaurant on such a small village the ambiance does make you feel you are in a big city. The food is amazing, the service is great and the price is exceptional.If you're in the area I would definitely recommend a visit
