Red Garlic has been one of my regular restaurants in Jiangmen over the years. Lin has revised her menu, and I'm currently enjoying the rolls that are packed with succulent beef that's cooked in a Chianti sauce. Delicious! The wine list has some very appealing Italian reds that we're recently added. Last night I tried a bottle of the Verona, which evolved nicely with air and breathing time as did the Montepulciano. Also, the Spanish wine that they do by the glass is excellent.

My wife and I with some of our colleagues visited this restaurant today for lunch. It's a tiny Italian restaurant we stumbled on last week by accident. We didn't have time to stay last week but we glanced at the menu so we decided to go back today. We also talked to the chef the first time we dropped by and his English is pretty good. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The menu is simple, prices aren't too steep and the translation isn't bad, pictures on the menu might be something they want add in the future. I think they may have been surprised to have 6 foreigners drop in on them for lunch. Overall the food was good. I had the "gill chicken with cream truffle sauce" (misprint on the menu) and it was delicious! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the sauce was so good I licked my plate clean! It would have been nice to have a bit of rice or pasta with the chicken - as it was literally two pieces of chicken with sauce, but once again it was delicious! My wife had a cream pasta dish, it was nice, but not amazing. She said some Parmesan cheese would have been nice on top (should have asked for that…next time). Unfortunately the food came dish by dish and was a bit slow. I think the owner was basically cooking each dish by himself. I had finished my chicken by the time my wife's pasta arrived. The environment of the restaurant is simple, yet nice, food was served on nice plates/bowls. We were served a pitcher of lemon water with mint in it which was much appreciated. Our colleagues were satisfied with their meals and we all said we'd go back again. We are definitely looking forward to trying more of their menu items and having the chicken again!
