Reviews on Irish food in Courtown, Province of Leinster, Ireland. Courtown (Irish: Baile na Cúirte, meaning "homestead of the court"), is a village which developed after Lord Courtown ordered the construction of a harbour during the Famine years, 1839-1846. The economic boost of the new harbour led to a small village developing with fishing been the primary economy of the village. Courtown is situated on the Irish Sea coast and with the recent development during the "Celtic Tiger" years, has merged into the adjoining village of Riverchapel. It lies on the R742 regional road.

This bar / restaurant is doing the standard fare really really well. As a family of 4 we had starters, main courses and desserts and they were all excellent, not one bad dish. The sort of food they do here is similar to the other places in town but The Coach House is going one step up. Couple that with great service and reasonable prices and you can't go wrong

We had Sunday lunch recently at Mossel Bay restaurant at Courtown Golf Club in Co Wexford with guests, got a lovely seat overlooking the greens. The food was superb, very well presented and extremely well priced. Good choice with something to suit most people. The restaurant was nicely busy which is always a good sign. Service was polite and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend to others and look forward to our next visit.

This is a buzzy, friendly cafe in a bookshop or possibly the other way round. When we were there it was a busy lunchtime but the staff were friendly and not harassed. It's an extensive menu for a cafe of its size and the food is good and wholesome. And then there is the very nice bookshop for browsing.

Visited these premises on several occasions for food while passing through Gorey, but tonight we decided we would not return. We both ordered fish and chips and when it came it looked appetising enough and its fair to say that we both ate what was on the plate,(we were hungry) however the fish was a very small portion and I think that for €15.95 this was very poor value for money. We don't want a huge plate of chips, we want the main item to be extremely tasty and good value, and unfortunately it wasn't really either. Very disappointing.

They were extremely busy but were so friendly and even chatted when taking orders and gave great recommendations. Everything we had was amazing so good in fact we had to come back the second night and further try out the menu and we were not disappointed.I don't say this lightly you must try this place out.

We were staying in the Marlfield House Hotel and the Duck Restaurant while not in the hotel itself is in the hotel courtyard and is part of the same establishment. The food was very good on both nights we ate there. The Wexford Lamb Rump was really good, nice and rare with very tasty sauces and vegetables. The Marinated Monkfish was also very good. A number of contributors have complained about the service. I can see where they may have cause for complaint but I certainly had no such complaint. A good restaurant, serving good food which I would recommend.
