Tippling Club

We have been to the Tippling Club three times - one each for the two degustation options and another for just the bar set. Overall the food and drink is exceptional and the chef deserves high praise for the way he interprets the food. Our favourite dishes from the degustation included the surf clams, the foie gras strawberry cheesecake, the king mushroom hollowed out and filled with bone marrow sauce, and the wagyu made in the form of a burrata The cocktails are very interesting with a theme of perfume - each cocktail is made to mimic a particular perfume, which you can smell before deciding. For the bar menu - the Big Mac risotto is a must try. It truly feels like eating a Big Mac but tastier. Dear SteveQYe,Thank you for the amazing review! We are pleased to hear about your wonderful experience and we hope that we will be able to exceed your expectations and provide an even better experience on your next visit! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

On a lunch visit to Spago Singapore we were amazed and delighted by the complex flavors, beautiful presentation and top-notch service. The restaurant offers a $48SG lunch special that allows you to select a starter, main and desert, most of which are the Spago specialties. While some had an up-charge like the Burrata and Pot De Creme desert, they are duly worth paying for.Our experience in Beverly Hills and Wailea is generally good, sometimes a miss but this Puck staple lives up to the name in every regard. The staff from Hostess, Manager, Chefs and wait staff do not miss a beat. You will not go wrong here.

Impressed by the good reviews and the attractive executive set lunch menu and price, I booked a table for a weekday lunch with my boss and two colleagues in celebration of their recent promotion. Being finicky diners, I had to make sure that I chose a place that would appeal to their refined tastebuds (they are French and good cooks). The fact that the restaurant is located in the iconic Shangri-La Hotel is already a plus point and we hoped it would match the quality standard of the hotel’s reputation. We were warmly and cordially greeted and seated. The restaurant has touches of ‘maritime’ (look at the hanging lamps); the place is bright with a high ceiling and arches, contrasted by deep wood tones and teal-coloured chairs. Prior to our meal, we were served a complimentary basket of freshly baked sourdough rolls that were delicious; crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.During our first visit, one of the choices for starters was grilled octopus, which my French counterparts opted for and thoroughly enjoyed. For the main course I chose the Wagyu steak which turned out very well, tender and tasty with a hint of smoke from the grill. The fish option was also good. The restaurant manager was friendly and accommodating and service was very cordial and efficient. Based on my first experience, I decided to select this venue for my mother’s 85th birthday and it turned out to be one of the best celebrations we have had. There were 12 of us and we had the use of the lovely, spacious private room where we had a flower arrangement delivered and set a balloon on the table to add to the party touch. We also had individual menus and place names prepared for each guest. Our hostess that afternoon was Pei San who was both attentive and fun and made sure we had what we needed. The different courses came out at good timings and she also got the cake (ordered from the hotel bakery) ready with the candles and brought it in at the appropriate time. Everyone enjoyed their meals and were treated to more desserts than expected. We certainly appreciated the restaurant manager for making time to come into the room to personally wish my mother a happy birthday. I would like to commend the establishment for empowering their staff to allow them to be flexible and to be able to grant guests’ little wishes when they are doable and feasible. My mother has repeatedly mentioned that she would like to celebrate her next birthday here again and I do think that is what we plan to do.Dear Ophir77,Thank you for your kind review! This buffet restaurant has something for everyone for breakfast. Chinese, Dim Sum, salads, cheese, smoked salmon, a noodle bar, traditional western cooked items, a Japanese counter with miso soup, pickles, the nicest cooked salmon I've tasted, a fruit station, bread and pastry counter etc.. it goes on and on!But it is expensive so only worth having breakfast there if you can eat a lot or it's included in a room deal.

I have been to the Rose Veranda on many occasions and have always been thoroughly satisfied with my experience. However, on this occasion, I noticed a marked difference in the quality and variety of the food on offer. The food trays were not replenished often enough, there was not as much of a selection of desserts and the crème brulee was way undercooked and runny. The most disappointing thing was that there were no scones on offer. You had to ask for them to be specially cooked for you. What is a High Tea without scones, cream and jam?! There always used to be scones and lots more delicious desserts. By 4.30 the chocolate fountain had been switched off and the whole dessert area looked decidedly sad! I won't be going back. :( Dear 373sianr, Thank you for sharing this review with us. We are disappointed to hear that you did not manage to receive the same Rose Veranda experience during your recent visit.
