In Olewig, a few kilometres walk from Trier (10 minutes from the amphitheatre), this made a great pilgrimage for a Saturday afternoon. Make the walk more interesting by taking the Weinkulturpfad over the hills, giving you views of the valley and the vines, and make sure to take the Olewig exit, then you can't miss this place. The menu seems to be modernised German classics plus some fusion dishes and some burgers, all at decent prices - only the steak breaks â¬20. The beer from their own craft brewery (Kraft Bräu) is excellent and they have a lot of choices. The service was a bit slow, it seemed like the waiters were a bit special, or it might just have been the groups that kept forgetting what they wanted. The garden doesn't have views but is quite pleasant and has activities for kids. I suppose it wasn't perfect but I had a good meal, great beer and a great Saturday afternoon.

We were here recently with friends and had a very good meal and nice experience. The owner entertained us and was not short of personality as well. Everything was well done and explained on the menu and the gnocchi was of particular interest. We will definitely be back next time were in town.

Situated in a quiet location close to a small village.Decoration and ambiance are "classical/vintage".Welcome and staff are perfect. They take real care of their clients without being invasive. Trust the sommelier who introduces you to unknown treasures of German wine producers.Delicious food and surprising wine list are perfect.The signature dish I like best is kind of "tarte" as appetizer "Torte von rohem Rindstartar auf Rösti mit Sauerrahm und Kaviar" (potatoe-rösti with minced raw beef & sourcream topped with caviar). Soooo good and you won't forget the taste of this delicious dish...Price&quality ratio is okay.The restaurant belongs to the Waldhotel Sonnora... a good idea would be to book a room and stay for the delicious breakfast!

The burger was nothing special, even a bit tasteless. I got the bacon and guacamole one so at least I could get some taste from those ingredients. It is not a bad burger, just not so good. In the pedestrian zone close to the Hauptmarkt (main square) and the Dom you'll find this well known restaurant inside a nice old building (also terrace in summer).Friendly team welcoming you for lunch.Decoration is nice and clean. The tables have white linnen tablecloth&napkins even for lunch. Lunch menu is a good deal: you get a starter (soup or salad) and a main dish (meat or fish or vegetarian) and also a small glass (0.1) of wine for a price of 23.50 Euros pp.Complimentary bread (Baguette and Sauerteigbrot) served with seasoned butter (olives) was a nice touch.Service was friendly.
