Lovely restaurant with nice decor, friendly staff and great food. We had the nachos which were great and very spicy and chicken pasta which was lovely.

Restaurant Fynboen focuses mainly on typical dishes from the Island Funen (or at least Denmark) produced from locally grown vegetables and local meat. The dishes are served with a nice, modern gourmet twist. The perfect example is the dish "makrel i tomat" (mackerel in tomato), which is normally the name of canned mackerel in a tomato sauce. This dish actually involves a can being served in front of you, but when opened the most delightful smoked mackerel is inside. The menu is full of surprising treats. You can do 3 or 4 courses or go all the way with the "Odense Aafart" menu, where you're served 5 dishes with wine, coffee and sweets for 750 kr, which is more than reasonable.For a new restaurant they got surprisingly many basic things right already. There was however some confusion about the constant lack of knives and forks. The presentations were ok, but the generosity was unmistaken. The place was cosy in a minimalist, Nordic way.Recommended!

Odense has a new gourmet restaurant, hurrah! Food is fantastic, wines excellent and service expert but in a nice, laid back way. We started with tasty and innovative snacks accompanied by a glass of very good champagne. We chose the wine menu for our five courses. Excellent choice of wines for the individual courses. We had a smashing evening and only two wishes for our future visits: 1) be just a little more generous with topping up our glasses and 2) do something about the music. We could live with the restaurant's own although we would rather be without music altogether. Towards the end of the evening, however, techno music from the café on the ground floor became so loud that we were happy to have finished our meal and leave.

Har været her før, hvor maden også var perfekt. Den gang var der lidt akustik problemer, men e er nu løst. 3 retter menu som i den grad var skøn. Dejlig afslappet men stilsikker betjening. Vi glæder os allerede til næste besøg.

From the reviews and the pictures (that look very nice and with big portions) we expected more. We ordered a sharing dish and we thought (especially given the higher price than any other dish) that it was going to be quite big, but instead the portion was barely splittable in three. The main dish was instead quite abundant. We ordered a smoked salmon salad (the salmon wasnât smoked!) and a steak sandwich (which was very good). If you want to visit, stay with the main dishes (and the personal suggestion is: order some meat!).

IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE OF SNEAKY PRACTICES, FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO EATLast time in that place March 2019. This place systematically try to get cheap labor paid 0 in concerts and other extraordinary events. Systematically.The claim is something like 'it is an opportunity'... To make burgers for them and being at a concert. But no pay, it is "volunteering". Their prices are very high and they can just pay who works for them.

What more can I say; great food, a nice atmosphere and a warm welcome. The waiter was one of the best iâve ever had, as a viennese youâre noticing this instantly, because in Vienna waiters normally have a, what i call, viennese grumpiness in their genes. Ah and the prices were reasonable. So what keeps you from going there?Thanks! We really make an effort to make everyone happy.
