This is a phenomenally creative, Asian fusion restaurant. We were a large group reserving a banquet room and enjoying a varied prix fixe selection we had arranged in advance. Numerous dietary restrictions were thoughtfully accommodated and the dishes were bright, fresh, original, and delicious. The service was perfect. To top off a wonderful experience, the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated -- worth a walk around to see what's been done.

We went to Taj Mahal on the recommendation of an Indian friend, so we were expecting authentic, good food. We weren't prepared for the level of deliciousness! More than dinner, we had an experience. I loved the metal Indian dinnerware and background music. The menu is varied and I love that all gluten-free options are clearly labeled. The nibbles to begin the meal came with three delicious sauces (mango chutney, tamarind, and mint) and a mindblowing hot sauce. The natural drinks are exotic and very refreshing. We ordered Chicken 65 as a starter: delicious crispy morsels tossed in a chunky, fragrant sauce. Yum. We also had the pillowy tender white rice, the butter chicken and a lamb almond sauce dish I forgot the name of- I remember the scrumptious taste, though. Both sauces were spiced deliciousness, quite different from one another and you could taste the attention to quality and the love in the dishes. We ordered no spice because my four-year-old doesn't have it, but the house hot sauce made up for it for us grown-ups. The service was kind and attentive throughout the evening. Our server was very accommodating to our daughter, gifted her a peacock feather and a complimentary popsicle for dessert. What a great find this restaurant was! We're new in Escazú and enjoy trying out different restaurants. Last night, we decided to have dinner at Avatar Indian Cuisine after reading some of the promising reviews on Tripadvisor. Avatar exceeded our expectations!The service was top notch. We were warmly greeted by the owner and waiters, and quickly seated at our table. I couldn't decide between the palak paneer and the chilli paneer, and so the owner, who also happens to be the chef, asked if he could make me a vegetarian meal that he thought I would enjoy. Not sure what I ate but it was fantastic! My fiance is a big meat eater and even he loved my dish. Both of our meals were excellent; fresh, tasty, and quick. The garlic naan bread was so good we had to order a second portion. If you haven't been to Avatar Indian Cuisine yet, go and try it out, you'll be glad you did! The food was amazing and the owner is very friendly. We will recommend and return.

Service was fine - a little too distant perhaps. Food was average. A small bowl (full bowl) was 3200 colones - it was only half fun. $6 for rice???? Naan was very good. Hot and tasty. Kabab was dry and without seasoning- although the 3 sauces were very nice. $20 per person minimum per lunch - just was not that good for that average quality and inflated price. Thank you for your visit and giving us the opportunity to serve you. As we put all the right ingredients required to delight our customers with the most authentic Indian food. We use imported Indian Basmati Rice for our guests and charged as per the Costa Rican landed cost pricing. But we always make sure that our prices are always reasonable according to the quality & quantity of Indian food served in Costa Rica. And all our dishes are easily shareable. We also have Executive Lunch Menu starting from 3950+ivi from Tuesday to Friday 12 pm to 3 pm. We always try to serve our guests according to their taste buds. Seems our attending staff missed to ask your preferred spice level. Thanks for your valuable feedback. We would like to see you back with us soon and a chance to pamper you once again with our best signature dishes.

I am a fan of Indian food, but I hadnât had such great, flavorful food until today. I had the Pakoras appetizer and the Camaron Lunch with Garlic Naan and Blackberry Pulp Juice. Everything about my meal was filling and flavorful, I savored every bite.
