Waiters were very attentive to us (they suggested us to take off our jacket, asked if everything was fine, etc.). The food was tasty but not enough potatoes with the burgers (could be enough for non starving people). We didn't waited the time for a long time.Well located (in the grote markt), and very cosy restaurant (not to big like canteens). This restaurant is in a small street close by the big market and the Meir. The servant was very friendly and we were served in no time. I had a giant meat brochette. The look was rather strange, but the taste was very good. The plate was served with fries and some salade, both not the best, but the brochette covered it all. The restaurant also offers mix brochette (meat, chicken, sausage) and one with salmon...all very big, so make sure you have a good apatite. My wife took a Greek salade with goat cheese, although it came with some pasta too, which was a kind of mismatch. Always busy in 'taverne oud gemeentehuis' and the customers + rumours were right..good service & nice price setting. Menu with focus on grill but plenty of other things (pasta/wok/fish etc) are available. Quiet on a Tuesday evening, and our hostess gave us plenty of attention, suggesting dishes and describing them to help the choice process. Swordfish carpaccio, scampi and antipasto Umbro all excellent. The preferred white wine was unavailable, but the hostess suggested an alternative which was close in taste and very nice. The same thing happened with the choice of red later. For the mains, lemon veal, sea bass were very tasty. Only small comment: could do with vegetables to be added. All food was exceptional.

This place is amazing for food and the location is perfect. I had the shrimp cocktail which was amazing with the fish hot pot to follow and this was also amazing. The waitress was excellent but the gentleman who we first met was quite rude but thankfully we didnât have to interact with him again. Highly recommend
