My man and I were exploring our local area and taking the scenic route to our intended destination. We came across this little gem out in the countryside. The coffee was very, very good and the food looked fabulous. We perused the menu and checked the different meals others had ordered. The menu was perfect for a breakfast or lunch. And the Kasekuchen - looked amazing! It will take a number of visits to do this justice. The location and atmosphere was relaxing and conducive to enjoying good food and great company. We plan to return with overseas visitors - or probably before that!

Upon arrival at this sports centre complex, you might be forgiven for thinking you've made a mistake... But stick with it because the Brasserie has a good choice of specials and regular menu dishes; and the waiter was particularly knowledgeable about the wines on offer.Highly recommended, I will definitely go again!

Wow this is a great restaurant in Lorrach Germany. We walked to this from our hotel about a 7 minute walk. The owners greeted us and we ate large. The salads are fresh and very tasty dressings. The steaks are well prepared and wow on the salmon and veal dishes. Very nice atmosphere and the dishes are like art work for these people. I will be coming back again.

We went here the first time and were so pleased that we went back the next week. Beautiful little restaurant with an idyllic garden. Walls decorated with murals from the great grandfather artist. Food is delicious, especially the steaks and fish of the day. Homemade sorbets are exceptional as is the chocolate muffin. Service is excellent--they speak German, Swiss German and English. Food is fresh and regional; wines are locally sourced.

Located in the village of Obereichsel, the Café Elke is a very popular restaurant with a large terrace overlooking a lovely valley. We had both lunch and dinner there and found the quality very good. Service at lunch was a little brisk, perhaps we had caught the owner on a bad day, but other staff were charming and helpful.I got the impression that there were tables with great views for regulars and that passing trade was relegated to the lesser tables....hmmmm.

Einfache Vesperstube, alt und sehr urig mit Kachelofen und einer typischen Vesperkarte mit Vesperspeck, Bauernwürsten und Salaten. Guter Gutedel vom Fass.Tolle Einkehrmöglichkeit nach/zwischen einer Wanderung, sehr nette Bedienung.

Very attentive & friendly staff who could all talk perfect English - my German is very basic. Varied menu and popular with both locals & business groups. The next time I am in Lörrach this will be my first restaurant stop!

This was a TA recommendation and turned out to be a very good one. The restaurant is in Weitenau about 6 kms up the valley out of Steinen and is obviously well patronised by locals. It's a typical German style room and the staff are very friendly. We both had pork steaks in different styles but we asked to have Rösti instead of standard fries. The whole meal which included side salads was delicious with beautiful moist pork and delicious Rösti. This was accompanied by local Rothaus beer and finished off with an excellent espresso ( we couldn't manage anything else!) In the summer you can sit outside and admire the view but on an April evening we decided it wasn't warm enough. Prices were very reasonable especially with the current exchange rate. A place to come back to.

We went there on purpose to have a Business Lunch Menu. It was excellent! The price is really justified (less than 40 Euros for three courses). The dishes are best cuisine and the kitchen is flexible enough to change the main course in its menu (if you do not like fish for example). We assume the dinner menu is of the same quality, plays in the same category and the price is reasonable for sure. We would recommend this restaurant.The ambiance outside is extra, you are sitting in the middle of a really nice garden. Inside the restaurant is showing its age (90's) but is still nice if the food is good.The service was well done, nothing to complain at all.

Last summer we ended up at this restaurant twice driving from Baselland, Switzerland.It is a lovely lodge & restaurant isolated by itself in this picturesque setting. And the restaurant is well worth the trip to this off-the-beaten-path location. The food is outstanding, local wines arre wonderful & reasonably priced, and the service is very friendly and warm. We loved it so much we ended up there again a couple of weeks later. We ordered a local Sauvignon Blanc & Sauvignon Gris Wine( Schloss Ortenberg, 2015) that was served chilled to the right temperature and was delicious and crisp. I ordered Local Trout served with boiled new potatoes & tomato, done just right with accompanying seasonal delicacy white asparagus that was simply delicious. We also tried the beef, chicken and pork dishes. All cooked to perfection. The first time we went we sat inside in the main dining room which was very simple yet elegant, perfectly prepared tables with white tablecloths and linen. On our second trip, it was a beautiful warm sunny day, so, we sat outside on picnic tables shaded by an umbrella. Food on both occasions was prepared with the same quality & care. All in all a very satisfying and enjoyable experience. Can't wait to get back again next summer.
