Wonderful small restaurant - serving mainly fish from the local lakes(but there is also something for meat-eaters!). Sitting in the summer sun, on the terrace - with a cool Gereman beer and overlooking the beautiful lake: nothing more you need for happiness!

The cafe has a nice courtyard. But the atmosphere is a bit sterile without trees. We were of very different opinion about the 5 cakes, which we all tasted. Two of us found the cakes delicious, the others did not like them at all. Therefore: an average score

Wir waren von der Lage und der Aufmachung sehr begeistert. Wir hatten einen Tisch für 4 Personen reserviert.Das Essen war lecker.Leider mussten wir sehr lange auf die Getränke und dann auf das Essen warten. Die Bedienung wirkte sehr über-fordert. Sehr schade.Dafür gibts einen Punkt Abzug.Sonst sehr empfehlenswert.

We landed up here on our first evening in Rheinsberg looking for a place to have dinner. The courtyard looked cozy and the atmosphere was welcoming and laid back. The food was very good for a very decent prize. And they even served a Belgian beer.

Wenn Peter mal nicht damit beschäftigt ist, viel zu schnell fahrenden Schiffsführern Manieren beizubringen, winkt er Anlegewillige von Weitem zu sich heran und hilft tatkräftig beim Anlegen und Festmachen.Und sofort darauf findet man sich in einer sehr familiären Wohlfühl-Oase wieder: Tolle Umgebung, eine super nette Mannschaft, sehr gutes Essen, liebe Gäste und gute Gespräche.Und mittendrin Seppel, der Haushund und eigentliche Chef.Bei leckeren Cocktails lässt sich der Abend entspannt beenden.Am nächsten Morgen erwartet einen dann ein reichhaltiges Frühstück mit vielen hausgemachten Zutaten.Hier fühlt man sich sehr wohl und kommt gerne wieder.

Nach einer langen Wanderung, und gutem Hunger, vertraut man doch einer Brauerei.Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr höflich und aufmerksamer Service. Schnitzel aus der Pfanne..... frische Champignons..... sehr lecker.Wenn man bedenkt, das unser klassisches Schnitzel mittlerweile meist aus der Fritteuse kommen.In der Gastbrauerei bleibt es bei der Pfanne. Sehr gut und weiter so.Die Karte ist sehr übersichtlich. Das ist für mich ein Zeichen von frische. Das Anrichten der Speise, sehr gut. Ich könnte wirklich nichts negatives finden. Und kann dieses Restaurant nur weiter empfehlen. Besonders das leckere frisch gezapfte Kronprinzen Pils.

Wir haben die Einschulung unseres Sohnes in der Waldschänke gefeiert. Und es war rundum einfach nur perfekt. Die Kinder konnten auf dem Spielplatz nach Lust und Laune spielen, ohne das andere Gäste sich gestört fühlten. Das Highlight war an dem ganzen aber das Essen! Da wir an den warmen Sommertagen nicht unbedingt warm essen wollten, haben wir vorab ganz einfache kalte Platten bestellt. Was wir dann bekommen haben, war der Wahnsinn und super lecker. Das war sicher nicht unsere letzte Feier in der Waldschänke.Das Personal ist aufmerksam und sehr freundlich und immer für einen Witz zu haben. Auch wenn die Terasse voll ist, hat das Team alles super im Griff, ohne das die Gäste dies zu spüren bekommen. Auf individuelle Wünsche der Gäste wird auch eingegangen und das ist top!!!Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden und hoffen ihr bleibt noch ganz lange erhalten.

Great fish dishes at great value with a most astonishingly beautiful view -- what's not to like? We came by this place while walking along the lake-side promenade in Rheinsberg, decided to reserve a table (a must during the summer months) for the evening and enjoyed every moment we spend here. The food was excellent if traditional, the fish as fresh as could be, the service attentively and the view over the lake spectacular. Wholeheartedly recommended to anyone!

Came into Rheinsberg on a late evening in January, just to experience that most of the town was closed. One of the only places that were open and accepted credit cards were Ratskeller, and that was a really pleasant experience.Service spoke English and was swift and friendly. Food was not outstanding, but good quality no fuzz grub at a reasonable price. Just what you need, when you have been on the road all day and need to eat before you crash in a hotel room.

During a visit to Germany in September 2011, I was invited to dinner by dear friends who told me that this restaurant is one of their favourite eating places in Reinsberg, Knowing my friends to be foodies, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, at the end of the evening, I was rather disappointed. Although the atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant, the service and the quality of the food on the day left something to be desired. For our order to arrive took almost an hour. As for my dish, wild salmon on cabbage and mashed potatoes, it tasted rather bland and the cabbage was slightly overcooked. I should be noted that is was a busy Friday evening and for reasons unknown, only two wait persons were on hand. The prices cited on the menu are reasonable, with mains between 11-15 Euros and desserts between 3.50- 5 Euros. I hope to get another opportunity to eat there, just to compare if this review is justified.
