The locaiton is set in a German "Fachhaus" building. Essentially this is a timber framed building where the height of windows and space between the beams are determined by regional tradition. The gaps in between are filled with panels and then rendered in colored plaster. I mention this because it adds a lot to the charm of the Alte Borse. The restaurant is located just a stone's throw from the main market square amidst the Old Town area of Lippstadt. The menu is extensive and covers both International cuisine and some local Westphalian fare (read meat dishes). The staff are extemely courteous and welcoming that adds further to the ambience of the restaurant. Dishes are generous in terms of portion and this generosity extends to the final bill. For the quality and consistency of the food I found the restaurant to be extremely good value. Overall I find the Alte Borse of sufficiently high standard to give them a rare five out of five!

Hatten ein Rumpsteak und das Wiener Schnitzel, es war sehr lecker gewesen, schön angerichtet und es gab nichts zu meckern.Vorab haben wir sehr leckeres frisches Bauernbrot mit Quark aufs Haus bekommen...saÃen im Nebenraum das war etwas schade, da wir hier alleine waren und etwas weg vom Schuss...insgesamt aber positiv und auch sehr netter Service, absolut weiter zu empfehlen!

Were part of a group for dinner. Service was great, efficient and friendly. The food was flavoursome and of a great variety. The snails, although small were pretty damn good......if you've never tried them, this would be a good place to do so.Would recommend this restaurant to all.

Wir waren Anfang November beruflich in der Nähe unterwegs und uns wurde dieses Restaurant empfohlen. Zu Recht wie wir mit Freuden festgestellt haben. Die Lokation: Rustikal aber saugemütlich, sehr sauber, hell und angenehme Tisch anordnung, nicht zu eng, klasse..Der Service: freundlich, nett, absolut offen für Nachfragen, gute kulinarische Tipps gerade welcher Wein zu welchem Essen - ganz groÃes Kino!Das Essen: Wir waren ehrlich gesagt nicht wirklich überrascht, wie lecker das Essen, wie ansprechend serviert wurde, denn bei soviel positivem was man in ersten Minuten erlebt, konnte es kaum getoppt werden - wurde es aber. Leider zu weit weg von Köln, sonst wären wir wohl regelmäÃig dort. Ein wirklich hervorragendes Restaurant

Der Grieche ist eine Mischung aus Restaurant und Imbiss. Daher auch eher ein Imbiss-Ambiente - zum Bezahlen steht man auf und geht zur Kasse.Der Service ist freundlich und schnell, das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt und war reichhaltig.

We arrived at the restaurant and did not see anybody.. empty... anyway we stayed, the food was good, the salad bar is not very attractive, basics only and not really nice displayed...

The welcome is very warm , staff were all very helpful and spoke great English which helped me out !! There was no English menu but one of the staff talked me through it , the menu is a mix of traditional German dishes , Meatballs , Bratwurst for example and then it has some burgers & chicken nuggets etc.I went for the meatball starter and currywurst main , both were very nice indeed The staff were attentive for the duration of my visit and it was genuine , not over the top. The beer is delicious , the wheat beer is excellent. This place is also excellent value , if you are looking for high class cuisine this is not the place you want , if you want hearty filling traditional food then you won't go wrong here.The place has a lovely warm welcoming atmosphere , just the job after a day of travelling.

At the first time I went there was very excellent. The food is very very giving me such a lovely first impression (I ordered 200g Rib-eye argentinische steak). I speak English, the waiter don't talk to much but ask me a lot of questions like about the sauce, side dish and the maturity level. I was really in love and I take my friend there the next chance but I was disappointed. the waiter was ignorant, he wasn't ask for the maturity lever so the steak was really hard the taste isn't as good as the previous although I ordered the same (I ordered for 400g for this).so, It was okay for me but I don't think i'll back again.

I took my family for a lovely evening with a gorgeous meal in a beautiful garden with fishpond. The service was perfect and the food to die for. What else could you ask for. A lot of people appreciate this family owned restaurant ... so you better book in advance! And enjoy:-))

Wow! This restaurant is typical German and the quality is outstanding. We went without booking one night and understandably it was full! Lesson learnt... we booked and got in. Great menu, huge portions, great service and price!Was nice to see the chef greeting customers too at the end of service! Bravo
