Food is very tasty, staff is friendly and helpful. We even tried to find another restaurant in the village that we could try but the options in the menu here were so much better that we've decided to eat here during the whole weekend we've spent there.

We decided to spend a night here on our way from Holland to Munich. After a long autobahn journey, we made our way to this little jewel. (Only about 10 minutes or so)On the mountain side overlooking the valley.There is a beautiful patio where we had dinner and breakfast. Our room was spotless and had a small balcony. Breakfast was excellent: crusty rolls, meats, cheeses, cereals, eggs, yummy coffee. What stood out the most for us though was the incredible hospitality. It is a family run hotel..it was busy ( wedding) but the owner , his wife and son absolutely went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. I wish we had more time here. If you are ever in the area, I would highly recommend this place

Waren an einem Freitag mit Freunden da .War Schnitzeltag .Ich als jemand der kein Fleisch isst fragt nach Alternativen .Fehlanzeige .Habe dann einen Beilagensalat bekommen .Naja dazu brauch ich nicht hin .Service war bescheiden .Einer am Tisch wurde komplett vergessen .Hat dann sein Essen ewig später bekommen so mach 10 Minuten .Kein Nachlass oder eine Aufmerksamkeit für den Fehler .Unser Fazit :1 mal da gewesen aber das war auch der letzte Besuch .

This is our family's go-to restaurant for all occasions and we're never disappointed with the great, local Schwabian dishes. The Spaetzle and maultaschen are always perfect. Service is always very fast and friendly.

Stayed there one night during a business trip. Whilst less than 15 minutes from the 8 motorway, Westerheim is an oasis of tranquility. Beautiful area. Rooms are adequate, wifi needs to be updated, too slow and bad coverage. Bathroom a bit outdated, yet clean. Breakfast was nice, with good service. They have a nice terras ie Biergarten.The restaurant is very good with typical German dishes, like roastbeef, schnitzel etc. Prices very sympathetic, good value.

We ate at Ochsen while travelling on the A8 autobahn and were very happy. The Spätzle, a regional speciality, were absolutely wonderful. Steak, pork, chicken were all very good and so was the Espresso.Kids are made feel very welcome from the first moment you enter the restaurant were crayons and paper awaits at one of the kids-ready table. Wow! We will gladly stop there again during our next trip.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Cordon bleu frisch zubereitet...konnte man aus der Küche hören. Schweizer Wurstsalat ein Traum. Die schlechten Bewertungen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Bedienung sehr nett.

Ein sehr lustiger Wirt hat unsere Gruppe bestens unterhalten, das Essen war sehr gut, Ich kann diese Gaststätte empfehlen, auch zu einem Nachmittagskaffee ist es eine Empfehlung.

As others have commented, food is over salted, i rejected an onion soup that tasted like sea water.... Serving staff refusing to get a jug of tap water despite us ordering wine, bringing out bottled water, which i rejected. Then returned with a carafe into which they had poured the bottled water, needless to say it was on the bill, which we then had to leave the restaurant to go to the bar to settle. Long delay paying for the meal at bar, tired so lost the will to complain. Went to bed in a first floor room facing the little alley that leads to the rear of the hotel where the main car park is. A poor nights sleep ensued. traffic noise went on all night the alley acting like an amplifier, closing the window didn't help as the room became too hot and stuffy. Mosquitos too! Could not be worse!
