The Granville is a country pub just a couple of miles from the historic city of Canterbury. The Granville offers real ales, great wines and outstanding food in a relaxed, informal setting, with a beautiful roaring fire at its heart. The emphasis is good,
Staff very friendly and food tasty which is the main basis behind most good reviews but we always leave here thinking we only go here because it's local and handy. The main reason is that it's overpriced for what you get. Starters particularly this time, my wife ordered chilli prawns for £7 and there were 4 prawns in it and not even large ones at that.I ordered the leak and potato soup which had about 4 spoonfuls in it and was quite frankly far too thick. Our friend's food also was tasty enough but inadequate starter portion sizes.Overall this pub serves tasty food which is the main thing but starters should be starters and not tapas sized offerings for £7 upwards. It's trying to be a posh pub but it's really a pricey pub.Up your portions and drop your starters down to £5 and it'll be about right.

Visited this unusual ski lodge styled place for a meal whilst staying in whitsable recently and had an excellent meal and enjoyed the blues music being played in the bar below. Friendly service too. Highly recommended!

Was so excited to be going to the Pearsonâs Arms for a birthday treat. Menu was sparse for a fish restaurant, very noisy not at all relaxing. Member of staff did tell us on booked arrival large party of 20 men, getting to end of meal, would be leaving soon. We had almost finished when they left! Food was ok but not exceptional, not good value for money. It is just a pub charging a fortune for average food.

Our vision is to create a unique and memorable experience within our local community which showcases local produce along with classic bistro style dishes. This menu is created around food we love to eat.
This is my local and I have never been disappointed. Tonight was lovely though. I stepped off the train at ten past eight and asked what she could offer for supper. A fabulous long list. She knows Iâm a vegan so she was already adapting her existing meals although to be honest I was already spoilt as a vegan. The pubâs ambiance changes during the day and tonight was a really relaxed buzz about the place with a wide variety of ages from little children to an older clientele. All credit to Natalie; Andrew; Ems and the delightful new addition to the kitchen, Jaz.

Good range and quality of food generally. However it wasn't busy (about 1/3 full) but staffing was a bit short and there were issues with taking orders (at the bar) and the odd mistake made, which they (wrongly) blamed on the customer. Unfortunately enough to discourage us all from going back.
