Reviews on Gastropub food in Rabat, Rabat-Sale-Zemmour-Zaer Region, Morocco. Morocco's coastal capital since 1912, Rabat has just over a million people. Modern and even reserved by Moroccan standards, the city also has many fascinating historic sites, including the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas, built in the mid-12th century. The unique Hassan Tower, begun at the end of the 12th century, was meant to have the world's largest minaret, but was never completed. Just opposite the tower lies the 20th-century Mausoleum of Mohammed V, another of the city's main attractions.

This seemed like a great place till right behind our group of 8, mostly women , a guy lit up a fat very smelly cigar. One of our group was very allergic but the staff said they could do nothing. Finally they moved us to another spot and opened a window. What a shame.

Professional and friendly wait service. Good brasserie atmosphere. The music was initially too loud to talk but when we asked it was turned down several levels. Quality food and good selection of wines. However, the portions are a bit stingy for the prices. For example, the salad with smoked duck breast only had two thin slices of duck breast. My scallop dish was slightly more generous with five scallops. I enjoyed the live music by a local band playing American favorites although my husband thought they were too loud. I did not. French style brasserie decor and menu that is justifiably popular with both locals and visitors.

The Facon Chef is conveniently close to the Atlantic hotel (< 1 min). They offer a range of different Thai dishes with seafood. I had the red curry beef and it was good. The most enjoyable part of my meal was the cheese rolls I had as appetizer.
