We could not find this restaurant at first, and eventually discovered that it was downstairs in the art gallery. We had an excellent Meal with wine and the cost was very reasonable, particularly the wine. While waiting for our meal, we wandered around the gallery and bought some lovely handmade items and art pieces. One of the best restaurants we visited in Tbilisi.

We stopped here for lunch. Things started out well. They have a great menu and we started with the best bread I’ve had in a while. We then had three dips for a starter that were also great. Then the long wait for the main courses started. It lasted almost an hour. No good reason for the delay either as they weren’t very busy. When they finally arrived my salmon dish and my wife’s salad were very good. Note that the place is tricky to find. The entrance is to the right of the Georgia Writers’ Building. You go around back and they have outdoor seating and the restaurant is in the basement of the Writers’ Building. Thanks for rating our Restaurant! Sorry for slow service, the reason for this was a lot of orders from all guests. we will take it in advance!

Purpur

Friends recommended Purpur. It is a very trendy restaurant in an area of Tblisi that is being renovated. By next year Purpur will be in the center of a new chic area. The food was very good. We had the khinkali and the khachapuri and some other items, The khachapuri was very, very good. We couldn't finish it. It was as heavy as it was tasty. The khinkali were terrific. I felt I was eating extra large soup dumplings at Din Tai Fung.
