We didn't intend to go to Apartamento - we were looking for a highly recommended restaurant mentioned in the Lonely Planet, but it was closed! - but we were very happy that a guy working at a ice cream shop around the corner brought us here. (Seriously, he guided us to the restaurant because we appeared so distraught that the restaurant of choice was nowhere to be found.)The menu is eclectic and varied, offering you a chance to eat foods other than the ubiquitous steak or pizza. The cocktails are a real treat as well!

Being the 2nd highest rated restaurant in Cordoba, it does actually take some effort to be this good and it delivers. First, the ambience of the restaurant, the interior is very nicely decorated and felt quite comfortable. However, my friend and I decided to sit outside in the courtyard. The courtyard is shared with another restaurant and a few shops, very casual, comfortable and relaxed setting. Second, we had the tasting platter, there were cheese in the sushi, that's why I say fusion, but it is very tasty and fresh. We took an additional dish and both of us was full at the end. The service is very good too, when we couldn't understand what the sauces were, the waitress got the chef (I think) to come and explain to us in his perfect English, overall, a thoroughly enjoyed dinner experience. A well deserved 5/5.

The food at Cartof is phenomenal. No doubt. We ordered several appetizers and entrees and all of them were flat out delicious and had a gorgeous presentation. Dante is an incredibly talented chef and Cata does and incredible job hosting the front of the house. The night that we went there, they kitchen extractor seem to be struggling with the amount of food being cooked, as a result, there was a bit of smoke inside of the restaurant and our clothes had a bit of smell of the food from the smoke. The music also did not fully match the cool ambiance that they tried to create for the restaurant. Nothing outrageously wrong, just small details that they need to work on improving (and I am sure they will since they recently opened their doors) in order to create a 5 star experience that will be on par with the excellent culinary creations that chef Dante can come up with. All in all, an outstanding experience and would be glad to recommend to friends and look forward to eating there again!
