The problem with this place is not the food. The food is average, but acceptable for the price. However, the waitress has way too much to do, the cook is the slowest we have ever seen. We waited 35 minutes for a soup and another 45 minutes for the "flammkuchen" which is very basic and should take no more than 8 minutes to prepare. The restaurant was not crowded. We see big room for improvement in the management of the place. If the waitress does not get support, she will break down. The cook is unacceptably slow, and the variety of the food is miserable. A few basic types of "flammkuchen" and 3 basic soups... no salad, no butter is simply unacceptable in any place that is considered a restaurant.

This Bistro is always full because the food is great, the atmosphere friendly and busy and (considering the quality of the food and cooking) the value is great.I recommend arriving a bit early (5-6pm) otherwise you have to wait in line. Since the place is always full, be ready to share your table with others (generally nice people).I had the potato soup, superb. Take at least the medium size. Then the Dusseldorfer steak (great), then the triple sorbets (as great as they look in the picture). My table-mates (complete strangers) enjoyed the huge Wiener Schnitzel and Red Salmon, so I think these could be recommended too.This restaurant is worth a special trip to Dusseldorf. I shall go there again.

...a typical French brasserie feeling in Düsseldorf...food was excellent - the appetizer with egg, espuma and octopus was delicious and huge, while the warm chocolate cake with icecream was just ok. Service friendly but confused (kept getting the wrong stuff...for a party of 2...). Prices ok.
