Bustling centrally located restaurant. Counter where you select your salad options and meat/fish/cheese/tart. Excellent salad including couscous, quinoa, lentils, broad beans, green beans. Goats cheese tart was delicious. Also serve a range of desserts. Helpful staff, good price. All in all a great place to eat whether vegetarian or not.

We visited during a one-night stay at Angoulins. Two factors influenced our decision; TripAdvisor and its proximity to our B&B hotel. We weren't disappointed, great food, friendly service and honest pricing. Our personal thanks to Samuel, Vianney and Sylvie for a great meal. Highly recommended.Thank you and see yoo soon. We almost missed the French lunchtime slot AGAIN and were pleased to stumble on this unusual place specialising in omelettes and salads. The owners took pity on us and agreed to serve us lunch, despite it being absurdly late (2pm). The food was beautifully presented and delicious.. my mushroom omelette packed with various types (of mushroom). We loved all the egg-shaped touches and had a nice chat with the couple who run the place (a newish venture for them). Really charming place for lunch, especially if you have children in tow. There are some great-looking restaurants around La Rochelleâs market, but none seemed that welcoming for a small child. This was perfect . Canât think of any egg jokes that havenât already been used

Today's lunch at Restaurant Christopher Coutanceau was a revelation. Without exception, it was one of the best seafood-based meals I have eaten in France.Everything was perfect, from reception to departure.The quality and creativity of the cuisine was perfectly matched by the relaxed professionalism only seen in the finest French restaurants.I'm quite interested in cooking and was impressed by how knowledgeable everyone on the staff who I quiried on ingredients and preparation were.Perfect food, incredible presentation, knowledgeabl, relaxed but professional staff, it doesn't get any better than this anywhere in France.

My husband and I decided to visit this place after reading the T.A reviews. We came out the door of the apartment and it was directly opposite us. The two guys who work there were super friendly and nice. We had the BBQ burger and the Mexican. Both were perfectly cooked and delicious. We couldn't fit in desserts as we were too full but we saw the homemade desserts on display as we were leaving and they looked yummy. This restaurant is a little off the beaten track, but really only a couple of minutes past the market towards the Carrefour so it is easy to find. I would definitely go back there as it has the full package, great burgers and great guys working there.

With all this beauty patisserie in the vitrine! And the decoration so modern and vintage!Have a short menu and for me that is important cus give me the impression that everything will be fresh and good, because this ones should be the specialty of the place! But I have to said that the I felt disappointed with the taste of the food, something is missing! I will return to visit to try something else! Anyway the mood of the place I like it! Résidents ou de passage sur La Rochelle, n'hésitez pas à rouler 10 minutes vers Aytré pour découvrir la cuisine de Jérôme et le sourire de Pascaline. Cuisine du marché proposée à l'ardoise et bien renouvelée. Spécialité quotidienne d'entrecôte aux herbes de garrigue dont les flammes crépitent jusque dans l'assiette...Plats très goûteux et soigneusement présentés. L' oeil affuté de Pascaline donne une grande efficacité à son service très attentif. Service au déjeuner en semaine. Prudent de réserver....Alors, suivez la Bonne Etoile, la route sera bien agréable.

Read good reviews about this place and only a few metres from where we were staying so booked it for Friday night. Arrived and were quickly seated and menu is the place mat so we had that right away. 5minutes later the blonde waitress comes out with a wine list and then disappears before we can order a drink. 5minutes later she re-appears with a pad and makes her way towards us only to stop and chat to the table before ours. After another 10minutes and a few hard stares she finally decides to take our order while apologising for taking so long! Surely you take the order and THEN chat with your friends?After that everything is fine and served quickly as she could see we were upset. Food is delicious but we'd never eat there again because of her
