It seems that this establishment doesn't change their oil frequently enough. The batter was too brown and sodden with oil,the fish within was tasty but spoiled by the batter.The chips were also overcooked and though edible were too brown and though edible not the best I have had.However,the place seems to have a good local clientele, so all I can say is that they must be doing something right.

Unbelievably rude staff. Lots of other places to eat in Minehead that are friendly, welcoming and able to discuss dietary requirements without insulting and embarrassing you. We definitely won't be going back to the cod shop.Sorry Hayley but this business is a traditional fish & chip shop with a simple menu NOT catering for Vegans. You really should have enquired before being seated in the busy restaurant.

Unfortunately we had broken down while driving through Minehead this day, so we needed some food while waiting by the side of the road. I had called and explained our situation, and was asked several questions to determine our location. Our order was taken - 2 margaritas and 2 bottles of water - and was delivered within 30 mins of the order being placed. It arrived at the side of the road and we sat there and enjoyed our lovely hot pizza. The service was lovely and delivery quick. Pizza was tasty and not a bad deal for the order we made. If needed again, I would return there. Thanks for coming to our rescue in a difficult situation.

Ive had lots of kebabs and this one ranks up there with the best i got a mixed one for 10quid it was massive only thing that would of made it better would of been to have a naan bread instead of pitta. As this was to hard to get any meat in and for the price i would of expected a naan.Thank you for your kind feedback. We are glad you have enjoyed your kebab.Regarding your naan bread. We are cooking an traditional turkish style kebabs and not indian style. So hence we do not offer naan bread.Also here in south west it is very uncommon to find naan in any of the kebab shops.We may consider to add it to our menu if the demand would be high.Thank you

Visited Alcombe Fish Bar this evening to recce for the âroyal visitâ next week...Our guests are fastidious âfish & chip connoisseursâ and we have been checking out the options available in Minehead.Last week we caught a cold at âTomâsâ (NEVER AGAIN... VILE!) so tonight it was the turn of Alcombe Fish Bar.Friendly service, clean premises... AND VERY VERY TASTY FISH & CHIPS!Hot, fresh and good portion size. Unlike the frozen rubbish last week at âTomâsâ.I have a feeling the search for the âbest fish & chips in townâ has just ended!

We visit Ziangs whenever we are in Somerset as the food is just superb. The menu is always different and this time we shared mango chicken sambal and some chips. The fries have changed to french fries since our last visit but my boyfriend prefers these so he was happy. The sambal was utterly delicious and now served in china bowls which pleases my plastic-conscious mind!The location is great.. what could be nicer than eating fresh asian cuisine in the sun overlooking boats and families crabbing. We will be back again (and again....)

On holidays so decided on fish and chips for dinner .We purchased 4 lots for us, note that no card payments are accepted. Chips were lovely.However fish needed few more minutes, fish itself was thin, batter was bright yellow, thick and not crispy at all. I usually love the batter bit but in this instance I had to take it off.Shame.
