The town has a population of 18,000 and is also the district administrative centre. It is the birthplace of Oskar Schindler and an important center of the Czech Esperanto movement, with an Esperanto museum that is part of the city museum.

Ate here a lot during my stay in Policka.Portion sizes were good, the service great.Medieval theme to this restaurant and Saturday night there was a troop of actors putting on plays for the diners. They even did one in English for us. The outside eating area isn't very well lit so was difficult to see what we were eating after dark. That said there was ample seating inside. A meal, meat, sides and a couple of beers was less than £10 a head. If I'm ever back in Policka I wouldn't hesitate to go here again.

Family business well known from ZdenÄk Pohlreich TV show offers warm atmosphere of both restaurant and hotel, which are surrounded by little brook, small ZOO and farm plant as sources of local products for kitchen.Owner of this fairy tale is really hardworking man who cultivated wild nature in peace of calm world and together with his family is ready to welcome guests by delicious meal.I dare to say I had the best trout in my life there which has been delivered freshly from local brook. With crispy baguette and recommended vine there was nothing to comply. I sent my parents here for a short stay and they were delighted as well.I like the way the family is caring all about and developing further power for improving this beautiful peace of world. If your path will lead across LitomyÅ¡l, short stop here is a must. Highly recommended!

JÃdlo docela ucházejÃcà - odpovÃdalo nÃzké cenÄ, ale krokety byly nasáklé olejem. Pod kroketou se pÅi zmáÄnutà vytvoÅila olejová loužiÄka. Reakce personálu na upozornÄnà žadná.

Byl jsem zde na veÄeÅi bÄhem služebnà cesty, od hotelu jsem dostal voucher na 15% slevu. Když jsem chtÄl uplatnit slevu, bylo mi ÅeÄeno, že nedostanu úÄtenku, že ji potÅebujà kvůli té slevÄ (nemohli mi ji ani okopÃrovat!). NicménÄ jsem se rozhodl zůstat a dát si nÄco k jÃdlu. Zvolil jsem Bacon cheese burger s hranolkami. Bohužel jsem byl zklamaný - burger byl suchý a takový nevýrazný, niÄÃm mne neoslovil. Hranolky se daly. ChtÄl jsem si pÅiobjednat nÄjakou omáÄku nebo dip k tomu, ale obsluha si mÄ nevÅ¡imla, tak jsem to radÅ¡i rychle snÄdl. Vedle mÄ totiž bouchaly 4 bowlingové dráhy. MÃsto ovocného Äaje, který jsem si objednal, mi pÅinesly Äerný s pÅÃchutà ovoce. NemÄl jsem sÃlu to ÅeÅ¡it.Pokud bych si pÅiÅ¡el zahrát bowling nebo squash a pak si dal jÃdlo, tak si myslÃm, že je to dobrý podnik. Ale na veÄeÅi bych sem už rozhodnÄ neÅ¡el.

Rychlá obsluha. Dobré jidlo. Zastávka na obÄd s dÄtmi na cestÄ z dovolené. MÄlu jsme ÄesneÄku, vývar, kuÅecà ÄÃna, játra. VÅ¡e chutné. Ceny pÅÃznivé.

We came here just for drinks around 2 PM on a weekday. The restaurant has outdoor setting right at the old square which is really nice. There were only very few people seated so we thought the service would be quick, what a mistake. We ordered bottled water, Coke, Frappe and two Iced coffees. It took ages to arrive and the Frappe and Iced coffees were so bitter I had to put two sugars in my (normally I don't put sugar in coffee at all) and it still wasn't nice. We were pleased we had our lunch elsewhere before.

If you are in this area don´t hesitate to make a stop in this charming little town with well preserved centre - this restaurant is situated on the main square, it is fairly new as far as I know - the food was very good, the dessert even better:) Good choice in Svitavy.
