We selected this restaurant to visit during a culinary tour of northern Germany from the internet and were very glad that we did - it is certainly the best we have come across this visit. The dining room overlooks the lake at an angle so that virtually no man-made structures can be seen on the lake shore - we had fair weather, not good enough to dine outside - but the view was absolutely fantastic as the sun slowly set and the spring colours changed. The menu was not extensive (always a good sign in our opinion) and we decided to go for the seasonal set 4-course menu. This had an optional flight of 4 wines to accompany it (Wein Reise) which we also selected. The first course was a Veal Carpaccio and this was followed by a Clear Soup with Chicken Breast and Spring Onions. The main course were Medallions of Pork (fillet) on a Horseradish Mash and we finished with Crème Brule with Rosemary Ice Cream. Without exception, each course was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and tasted delicious; just right portion size - simply superb. With the exception of the wine to accompany the desert (a disappointing Asti) the 3 main wines were all German, from freshly opened bottles and of a high standard. The service was impeccable - and we rounded off the meal with an excellent Espresso. We thought that the price, we would rate it mid-range, as brilliant value for money.

We stopped for dinner on our way back to Hamburg to look at the lake. Decided on this place at random and it was a reasonable choice. We ordered pasta and pizza calzone and each was fine but nothing outstandingDrinks were good and service excellent considering the civic function outside with bands.

We were staying at the hotel above the restaurant. What impressed us was the big menu with a variety of courses. Wienerschnitzel was not on the menu, but when we asked for it, they came up with two ! Prices were ok and choices of wines adequate. We can recommend this place. Thanks for the nice feedback.

This is the best place to eat in Mölln in my opinion . Dishes with game and liver from game prepared to perfektion. Only one person to take orders and to serve and take care of the guests in a professionel way

Coming from Denmark and having started out early in the morning we very much enjoyed our lunch which, with fried potatoes, bacon, eggs and spices, was very similar to a traditional cooked English breakfast. Heavy stuff, but needed. To accompany our meal we drank a good local, dark beer. The building of the café is in two storeys with a sort of gallery on the first floor. A cosy atmosphere which is almost a mix of medieval times and Victorianism. The service was swift and helpful.
