Very few diners the night we visited and so the attention was first class as was each course of the special menu priced at €188 per person. Pricey but well worth it, moreover the wine, at €35, and a Reserva at that, was a surprise at this cost.Low season carries its own advantages. A staff member gave us a lift to the train station as we had cut our timing rather thin!Well done to all.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel, San Michele Suite, for our first lunch in Polignano a Mare. I know there are less than good reviews on TripAdvisor, but we had a really delicious meal, served with kindness.First course was a caprese salad, which was very nice -- the cheese and tomatoes were delicious and instead of basil, there was fresh arugula for a nice contrast. We also had local pecorino -- wonderful. Then, we had tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms. Wow. Delicious. The mushrooms nearly floated off the plate they were so light and fluffy. The pasta was cooked and dressed with a high degree of skill and care. Finally, we had whole grilled fish, filleted table side. Also delicious. Flaky, sweet meat and seared, crispy skin. Yum. Our server (who I think may have been an owner) proudly offered us some homemade limoncello. It was fantastic. When we told her so, she beamed and stated they were her lemons! :)We were charmed by this restaurant and would definitely return.

Decent greeting and shown to a nice table. Nice welcome drink of a bubbly rosé. I tried to order a bottle of wine and the maitre starts yelling at me in Italian. I realize my fault I didn't understand what he was saying, but thought he was telling me we had to order the bottle, not by the glass, which was what I wanted anyway. Evidently what he was yelling at me louder & louder was that they didn't have it. In his defense, he recommended a similar less expensive wine that we enjoyed. Were brought an amuse bouche, compliments of the chef, that was tasty. Ordered the yellowtail appetizer & he starts yelling again. By now I understand that they don't have that either. Went down list jabbing at the menu at what they did & did not have... about 1/2 the menu was not available. Well, print a new one in that case... Ordered one of the available appetizers - octopus in a tzaziki sauce. Came out breaded, overly deep-fried, tough, and beyond awful. One bite & no more... My spaghettitoni (sp?) with clams & sea urchin sauce was very good. Husband's Scampi with a ricotta-filled pasta - 3 large "Pope's Hats," I think they are called, was good, but had rather off-taste smoked tuna under each piece. By that time we'd been listening to this guy yell at several more tables, decided we'd had enough and got out of there. Reading other reviews, I'm guessing the same rude person seems to have ruined many a meal for patrons there. Too bad, as the setting is beautiful.

Our best meal in Puglia !We chose the cheapest chefs menu at 35 euros per head and were blown away ,the course just kept coming . Starting with superb raw fish and cold octopus we moved to delicious large portions of cold fish with black rice with salmon . Next came the pasta with all sorts of fish ,clams and mussels. We thought that was it but then came a large piece of hot tuna for me (GF option ) and many fired fish for my wife . We couldn’t manage it all!We politely refused the fresh fruit and finished off with a wonderfully sharp lemon sorbet.Brilliant food and brilliant value washed down with a creamy fruity white wine by the glass and they were extremely generous glasses.Warm friendly service as we sat on the balcony .A memorable meal which would have cost £150 per head in London - at least !Our total bill was 98 euros ! The restaurant is just out of the main centre and the crowds which suited us fine.

Definitely the worst dining experience I have had in Italy, the “waiter” must have been trained my Manuel! We were the only diners so forgetting what we had ordered, bringing our vegetables before our starters, and generally being a total disaster. The food itself was reasonable and the setting very attractive however the abysmal “service” just totally ruined any semblance of enjoyment. Avoid like the plague, I know I will.

Quite a few restaurants were closed in Polignano as it was Monday night and this included the restaurant we had intended on visiting.Frankly, we’re pleased it was closed as this establishment in Via Roma was superb. It’s easy to know when you’ve found a good restaurant as the service speaks volumes. Here Lorenzo, our waiter along with his female colleagues were exceptional. The atmosphere was really good, the soft jazz was spot on and of course the food dishes topped it all off. The salads were fresh, the pasta and fish dishes brilliant and the Tiramisu was the icing on the cake!We are in Polignano for three nights and despite the choice of eating places we’ve decided to go back tomorrow night.

After an unpleasant dining experience in Lecce a few days ago( see my previous review) we headed to Polignano and found this little gem of a restaurant.Set inside the town’s wall in a charming location, the restaurant is beautiful presented with a lovely alfresco area where our table was.Staff was very attentive, polite and knowledgeable! Starters: we had smoked burrata which was delicious and carpaccio of octopus, which was fresh and light.Pasta: the bucatini were perfectly cooked and really really tasty. The ravioli were also good, though the bucatini were the winners. As secondi we had:Grilled seabream: fresh and well dressed, mixed fish frittura: light and crunchy Grilled octopus: totally heaven! In summary, highly recommended!

We have eaten here twice in the last week. It is truly amazing and lacks any exploitation of tourists in a tourist centre. The food is outstanding and amazing value.Book it as you will not get in at short notice. Try the fish soup but share it as a starter, it’s not soup as we know it but is full of seafood and is truly an outstanding dish. The pasta will convert the most stubborn of pasta haters. This is a very genuine restaurant run by very helpful and honest staff. This is probably in my top 5 restaurants anywhere. Thank you for your skill.
