If my mother had been Spanish then she'd have cooked food like they serve here. Delicious.Very friendly and cosy Taberna. We had the traditional Fabada Asturiana which wasn't shown on the menu, this came in large bowl and was an enormous portion and delcious. Croquettas were delicious and the grilled Iberico pork too. No room for dessert , we walked 1.5 miles back to our Hotel to help it all go down.Definitely great food and excellent value.Muchísimas gracias por su visita y posterior comentario a nuestra casa, seguro que su madre es una gran cocinera y por eso le ha transmitido su amor por la cocina.Un saludo.

Made a real change of menu, badly needed after a week eating in Asturias. Here are people trying to make interesting food with taste combinations you're not going to get in a standard restaurant. Very friendly and attentive service and had no problem spending time going through the choices with non-Spanish speakers.

La Genuina de Cimadevilla

There are so many great places to eat and drink in Oviedo but La Genuina is exceptional with friendly but not overbearing service. The waiters were attentive and very helpful with menu choices. In spite of our good intentions we still needed the English menu which the waiter happily brought to us. We shared two starters. The goats cheese starter was the tastiest, tangiest cheese dish I've ever had the pleasure to eat. The crunchy chicken skewers with honey and mustard dressing were similarly delicious. We struggled over which main course to choose. Everything sounded amazing and seeing what the other diners were eating only made the choosing harder. We suggested we would each like a different paella dish. The waiter was incredibly helpful and said one paella dish would be plenty so we opted for the Iberian pork paella. Dessert presented yet another problem of choice. The gluten and lactose free options seemed appealing but in the end the waiter recommended sharing a dessert and we opted for the heavenly chocolate cake. It's sooooo good. This amazing food was all washed down with a bottle of cheap house red wine.and the bill was under 50 Euros. It was a great meal and a lovely experience. The waiters were brilliant throughout and created a relaxed atmosphere without any hard selling. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Oviedo!

SALAZOGUE Bistronomie

Bistronomie, it is the fusion between words and Bistro Gastronomie. The union between a small hotel where cafes and affordable meals and the so-called haute cuisine are served. SALAZOGUE offers a fun dining experience in the old town of Oviedo.

After 10 days in Spain eating great traditional food we were looking for something different. This small intimate restaurant gave us just that. Sharing plates with an adventurous edge. Seaweed salad. Black lasagna. And a rice pudding that was totally exquisite. Highly recommend for people looking for some reasonably priced creative cooking in Oviedo

This restaurant is 8 or 9 kms out of Oviedo to the South West, just outside a village called Las Caldos (hot Springs) where there is a large spa complex. This is family run bar and restaurant in a tiny Hamlet, you can easily miss the Restaurant - it is bright blue - this may help! It is set on a hillside with a great view over the river valley below. There is a large terrace and a small bar area, once you go inside there is a friendly welcome, and your are shown through to a large dining room, along with a semi outdoor and a further outdoor terrace dining area. They generally have a set menu, including a veggie/vegan option, as well as an a la carte menu. For 22 Euro you have a choice of three starters, three mains, and five or six deserts. We had the choice of:Fabada (local bean stew similar to Cassoulet) , Octopus and prawn Carpaccio salad, salted cod pate, Cook your own steaks on a hot mountain rock, Wild boar casserole, Grilled Fish.We had the Octopus, Salted Cod, Grilled fish and Wild Boar Casserole. All were great, good portions, - not too big, but lovely fresh ingredients, well prepared and with very friendly and helpful service. All the puds seemed great, I got the impression that they would change frequently. So slightly more expensive than some "local" restaurants, but a great experience, good quality food, in an ideal location. We will return.

Been there last week for business meeting. I heard about this restaurant time ago. The good is good and tasty, we had the tasting menu with a glass of different wines included in the price, also had the jamon serrano (is specially selected my the Cheff himself), good quantity and the taste is spectacular! And finally I try tmny favourite dish, croquetas! Creamy and perfectly fried. The set up of the dinning area is beautiful and the staff is attentive and happy. Prices and good average of 80e each including the extra dishes we order. I will return for sure! Andres thank you very much for taking the time and devote so highly .We will move its opinion to the team that formed the De Labra family.Best regards and hope to see you soon in our restaurant

We didn't know about this restaurant and we went there a bit by chance. We were super lucky.Ca Suso is a small fine-dining restaurant that offers great cuisine with a incredible value for money in their set menus. The place wasn't very full, so we received loads of attention from the staff, including recommendations for were to shop traditional foodstuffs from Oviedo and good restaurants for the next stop in our trip. The food and the pairing wine were all very, very good, with special mention to their Arroz con Leche. You MUST order it, it was incredible.

My Spanish is not great. I made a genuine effort to converse in spanish and did not speak English. Staff were obnoxious and unfriendly. I ordered a beer but decided to leave before ordering food. Worst experience eating out in Spain. You arrived at 20: 05H, to dinner and you were told that the cooking schedule started at 8:30 PM, I did it by showing you my watch because my English is not good and I told you that you should wait for what you indicated he would have a beer, sat down to wait and 5 minutes before the kitchen would have left without saying anything. Nobody bothered him or treated him badly, I think he has been wrong with his opinion and you are very unfair to us, we can not change our schedules why you do not want to wait sorry

Casa Fermin makes you feel welcome immediately, without any exaggerated theatrical stuff. Friendly and very efficient service, and the food is just extraordinarily good. We shared a generous platter of local cheeses to start, followed by perfectly cooked pigeon for me and monkfish in a squid sauce for my partner. It was a struggle, but we managed to find room for desserts, which were wonderful (and luckily light!). Very interesting wine list. 100% recommended. We did not have a reservation, just walked in at lunch time, no problem.
