Located a bit from the âcity centerâ, but only 5 min walk, so easy to go there. Nice and cosy place. The food was nice, and price level very fair, can recommend you to go there during your visit in Longyearbyen.

We stayed at this fantastic cool "hotel" and had a delicious dinner from the grill. Very tender, very well thyme grilled sirloin with grilled vegetables. The atmosphere is so relaxed, "backpacker-like" and the staff is outstanding nice, helpful and interested in assisting YOU! No preteding being a smart and cool restaurant with ants and moss on the menu; you just feel relaxed and at ease here with honest food. Thank you. Had a great time even though it was late they took time to serve us and with a smile. The server was fun and connected with our family, all adults. One of us had food allergies which they were more than happy to accommodate him. It is centrally located and the ambiance was cool. Good suggestions for beer and food. Awesome place to visit and eat.

Came in with no reservation. We was given a seat in the middle of the pub which wouldn't be our first choice but was Ok Service very good and polite waiters.Ordered soup of the day and Margherita pizza - came to 250krone with a tip. Good value for money.Seats have no backs on so asked for chairs.Overall would come again

To be clear, this concerns the bistro side only. I wasn't able to get into the main dining room.The bistro is actually a part of the bar. A few simple tables and chairs.I went for the three-course menu and was not impressed. It began well; a very good fish chowder accompanied by amazing toast. The main course was a surprisingly bland fried cod. Dessert was chocolate mousse with vanilla ice cream; the mousse was good, but why would anyone make sour ice cream? I was staying in the Svalbard Hotel and decided that I should eat at the Polfareran Restaurant as the breakfasts had been extremely good.The restaurant itself is not really stylish but the food was outstanding. The menu is quite limited and we started with a very good houmus amuse bouche and home mage crackers. I decided to drink the very good local beer but the wne list was pretty good. The first course was scallop ceviche with fennel salad, which was delicious.The main course was fantastic. It was reindeer with a dark sauce and appropriate vegetables. It was served rare and the taste was completely wonderful. I thanked the chef, who turned out to be Scottish...and a very good cookA great meal! No room for desserts even though they looked good
