Second visit in my two week holiday visiting family ( my mother is from Hildesheim) and just as good as always. Great Greek food in a fine restaurant with attentive yet unobtrusive staff, very friendly and helpful. Recommend the Giros and Souvlaki both of which are as good as I have ever tasted.

Near city center, nice Italian place, romantic, private, love decoration, great food, great service, excellent price. Ideal for a casual/romantic dinner.

Delightful small restaurant, very popular with locals, that I found only thanks to Tripadvisor - there's just a small street sign to mark the spot. The menu is limited, but what I ordered (a huge pork schnitzel covered in mushrooms) was excellent. Reception and service were very friendly; and since the weather was fine, I sat outside in the small rear garden, which was especially nice. I don't know how many foreign tourists will find their way here, but if they do, they'll find a pleasant and "typical" German dining experience

This is a wonderful Bavarian-style restaurant. I had the pork roast and dumplings, it was good but not excellent. The burgers I saw at other tables looked wonderful. My girlfriend's garden burger was completely different from any garden burger I have ever seen in the states. It was so good I tried it, it was like biting into a patty of fresh vegetables

According to me, it's more a cafe serving some food then a restaurant. We booked a table at this restaurant as it was close to the hotel we were staying. As of the Christmas market, it was good we booked as the place was packed. The girl serving us was really friendly and helpful but it seems she was doing all the work herself. She really needed to run from table to table. The food itself wasn't too bad, but my meat was a bit overcooked. I asked for saignant but according to me it was more well done, lost a lot of it's flavors. The restaurant was also very noisy.Recommending it for a snack or quick dinner, not expecting too much.First of all: thank you for your honest review. We appreciate any kind of critic that helps us to improve our service and cooking skills. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at our restaurant, we just ask you to keep several minor things in mind:-Our service team works never alone, there are at least 3 waiter/waitress', why there was just one waitress to your service leaves us a little bit puzzled- overcooked food does not satisfy anyone, that's why you can send your food back anytime for giving us the chance to make things right. - December is the main-season for company christmas parties, therefore it is crowded and noisy, like in any other restaurant of this size in Hildesheim. Under usual circumstances you can sit, chat and relax, without noisy people around you.If you find your way back to Hildesheim, you are invited for a menu of your choice, and who knows? Maybe we can leave a better impression.sincerely, Hamun Hirbod

Nice Restaurant, by side of andreas church... we only have the possibility to try the pasta dishes, because we were late and the kitchen was almost close. Nevertheless they were really kind to attend 5 hungry people thanks! Next time we'll take more time! Arrivederci!

Restaurant Gildehaus is an appealing contrast of the old with the new. The half-timbered booths are charmingly cosy while the white elements underscore the modern look. These booths are the ideal location for a confidential business meal or a romantic din
We spent there a Sunday evening, having a dinner. Everything was correct, particularly recommendable was goose consommé. Service on the high level, interesting interiors, however it might be considered as a bit too old-fashioned. Quality of food not excellent but having no reason to complaint.

We were 6 persons in rainy Hildesheim who wanted to have some food a Saturday evening. We called a lot of restaurants, visited also but all were occupied, except Dorado! Our expectations were quite low when coming there, but it turned out to be a positive surprise. The meat (rump steak) was very nice and hade exactly the way we ordered. The restaurant can really be recommended!

Fantastic restaurant, up on a hill outside Hildesheim Germany. On our short trip to Hildesheim, we actually ate here for 2 nights because the food and service were so good. A special call out to the great service from Serkan, who took care of us the second night, when they were very busy -- even coming out to the car to tell us that we could get a table.Menu is meat oriented, but things for non-meat eaters as well. Fantastic appetizers -- burrata, goat cheese etc. Salmon was excellent!
