We had a quick dinner here whilst passing through Graaff-Reinet. My husband had the ribeye which was very good but my beef stroganoff was quite literally the best Iâve ever had! Delightful staff and a great evening in this quaint little spot!

Chose Pioneers for our first night to have supper and not disappointed, mostly. Nice and warm inside fires were blazing and outside in the back area braziers were giving out lots of warmth and amazed at the number of people sitting out there.Starters were fine and my wife had the lamb shank which she enjoyed tremendously and I have the chicken cordon bleu. I had to send the pumpkin fritter back as it was stone cold and the cheese inside had not really melted so a bit gooey.Service was fine and all in all an enjoyable evening.

Recommended by a local. Had an excellent meal, so good we went again the next evening. But it was such a large helping that I decided to have two starters instead. Well, the second starter was bigger than many main courses! All delicious, but they must do a roaring trade in doggy-bags! Lots of other products to look at and buy too. Very good service, rather plain setting.

What a tasty lunch I had at this restaurant! I sat outside in the shade in the courtyard at the back, and so enjoyed my meal! There is an interesting selection of German delicacies on the menu... but for the less adventurous, there are burgers, the universal staple. I chose a burger, which was really packed with flavour with an interesting twist. Just wish that PE was closer to Graaff Reinet, because the food looks so tempting!Many thanks for such a lovely review. Much appreciated!
