Had a late night laugh here earlier in the year. Made the mistake of going back for lunch last week. Needs shutting down. All I can do is echo all of the disgusting food reviews this place has. Need an EHO serving on it and all the staff replacing.

We were stopping at the Premier Inn about 500 yards away so, after a long day hiking along the coast, it was very convenient for dinner. It's located in the new Brewery Square which has quite a few other chain restaurants (Pizza Express, Carluccio's etc.) among the shops. My starter of duck liver pate was very good (smooth rich pate served with brioche bread and chutney) but the main course of pork tenderloin was even better, really delicious. There was a reasonable choice of wine at fair prices, we enjoyed a bottle of French sauvignon. Service was great throughout, quickly shown to a seat even though we hadn't booked, order taken after about 15 minutes, wine arrived promptly and the two courses were nicely spaced. It's been quite some time since we've been to a Cote Brasserie but this has encouraged us to try some others nearer home. I do object a bit to the automatic 12.5% service charge but I would have left more anyway.

After several attempts to get in, finally made it. A thouroughly enjoyable evening with excellent food and service. Four different meals were faultless and the recommended wine was excellent. Something for everyone on the menu and slight variations to the ordered dish were easily acommodated. A small and intimate venue which is very popular and therefore booking is essential.Lovely feedback. We are so pleased you had a great dining experience with us. Hope to see you again soon.

Found this cafe after wandering round Dorchester, actually came in the entrance by Waitrose. Sat outside in the courtyard in a sunny spot. Staff were attentive and friendly. We both ordered a sandwich and were extremely impressed with them. Lovely thick soft bread and almost over filled. One of the best we've had for a long time. Looking forward to visiting again!

Came for lunch while visiting Dorchester. We were just passing. Very pleasant surprise. Its obviously popular with locals. Service was prompt and efficient. As it was our first time we didn't attempt anything other than basic luncheon fare but what came was really good. Coffee was good as well - not always available even in more expensive places.dear Retiredtraveller,Thank you for your recent visit whilst passing through Dorchester, I'm so pleased to see you had efficient, prompt service and your lunch and coffees were really good! I hope you'll stop by if in town again to sample some dishes from our longer lunch menu too and thanks for your review!

We visited selecting the 4 course taster menu. We did not choose the wine selection and it seemed that we rushed through the courses with hardly a pause between. Our meal was finished in about an hour. On the plus side each of the courses were well presented and had a good balance of flavours especially the dessert. During our visit there was a continuous high pitched whine from the fridge fan which we found very annoying and distracting. Sorry but whilst the food was OK our evening felt rushed and had little ambiance.

Based on recommendations and reviews, we were full of anticipation as we headed for this restaurant to celebrate my wife's brthday - and it over-achieved our expectations in so many ways. The location is picture perfect, and if you are lucky enought to dine on a perfect summer's evening, then you to can enjoy drinks and perfect canapes in the beautifully tended garden. We arrived early, but that didn't seem to bother the staff, and it wasn't until we went in to dine that we realised how busy they were. The menu is not huge, but well-balanced and making use of local produce in really imaginative ways. My guernard starter was perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced with a citrus dressing, and my wife's fresh crab version of eggs benedict really tasty. We both chose the pan-fried lamb steak which - again - was perfectly cooked, and followed it with a strawberry shortbread for her and the local cheese board for myself.Herein was the only major disappointment of the meal. With all the care and attention that had been put into the food preparation, ambience and service - it just didn't seem right to serve beautiful, tasty local cheeses with a couple of toasted crusts (admittedly homemade) and a pile of Jacobs cream crackers straight out of the packet. Not even a selection. Just cream crackers: like an out-take from Wallace & Gromit. The wine list is wide ranging and provides plenty of choice in terms of price range, half-bottles and by the glass. There are some rooms available if you book early enough and don't want to stint you intake. If - lilke us - you failed to book in time, the staff were incredibly helpful in tracking down a local cab company. This is a restaurant I would find difficult not to re-visit if in the area. Really a great dining experience. But bin the crackers.
