It was the capital of the small Principality of Lippe from 1468 until 1918 and then of the Free State of Lippe until 1947. Today it is the administrative center of the district of Lippe and of the Regierungsbezirk Detmold. The Church of Lippe has its central administration located in Detmold. Stopped off at Red Jerry's a couple of times for a takeaway and never been disappointed. The pizza is always freshly prepared, cooked perfectly and the team serving is always happy to answer questions and add any additions i.e. extra spice etc.Will continue to use Red Jerry if it's on my route home, and I feel like a snack...

That was amazing how good was food in that evening. All staff works hard but correctly and all the peoples like nice evening on the historical place and very good food. Because that wasn't tour to nice German village, I can't look around, but I know that all the territory is very nice and authentic. I definitely like similar places, but this time was favourite subject food (some pictures added to my review. I wish all the best the place and the stuff too. Thank you for!

I tried on two occasions to order at Extrablatt, but never actually got the opportunity. Mostly, I just watched the staff yell at each other and customers, as they ran about in utter panic. Avoid at all costs.

Literally just five minutes from where I live, one of those places you alway wonder what it's like inside...The menu is very small and changes frequently so you never get the same food twice. German kitchen so if you like meats, potatoes, dumplings and red cabbage etc. you'll be in heaven! The restaurant is very clean, great service very tasty food, not to much and not too little. Been back twice since and enjoyed every meal.

It was so eye-catching menu on the list so that i finally decided to try this menu. I was kinda excited to taste and see how it looked like. The meat was so fine and soft and it tasted me like hungarian gulasch and suited to indonesian cuisine "rendang" but not really hot and without coconut milk. The noodle which is spätzle was really good cooked. I could eat it all till the last bite, i'm actually not a big fan of red cabbage but the red cabbage tastes different if you mix together. The cook has tried hard to make it warm so that we feel like being home and it was brought right from the kitchen.I tried the red wine conte di campiano primitivo di manduria from Italy which costed around â¬20 and was really good as the companion. The design of the restaurant is good, intimate, romantic candle light dinner. But i was a bit unhappy as we got there, there weren't so many people maybe because of the location. But if you want to try something "westfalen" this could be your choice in Detmold.

Wir waren hier heute anlässlich einer Hochzeit mittags in groÃer Runde essen. Der Empfang war total herzlich, mit Kindern wurde sehr lieb umgegangen und der Service war sehr professionell. Das Essen war super lecker. Die Hühnersuppe als Vorspeise war genial ( schmeckte hausgemacht), die Salatbar war spitze und die Fleischplatten ( u.a. Cevapcici ) waren der Hammer.Das gesamte Restaurant und die Gläser und die Einrichtung waren picobello sauber. Wir würden sogar ohne Familienfeier definitiv nochmal hierher fahren und essen.

Wide beer selection includes Krušovice, Guinness and Allgäuer. Good location, especially sat outside. Enjoyed gourmet beefburger (ostrich and kangaroo also options). Could 2 hard-working staff cope with the 80-odd customers sat outside? No. My glass was empty when my food arrived and only replenished 10 minutes after I had finished eating. Come here when it is not so busy.

Quality of food has significantly decreased. My mother always warned me to eat in restaurants with pictures of the dishes in their menu, so if you want to enjoy a good glass of local beer in a nice atmosphere go there, but don´t expect too much from the chef.Thank you very much for your valuation.
