Konoba Bembo

We stopped for a lunchtime snack and ended up consuming a meal of some substance! This is homemade food at its best. We had 2 hake and pommes , 1 Istrian pasta (pljukanci) with veal goulash and 1 fusi with game goulash (mostly venison). Stunningly good and filling. The local wine is great too! Bread was gratis and the olive oil local and peppery.Free digestifs were offered and opted for Ruda and bilberry grappa. Price incredibly reasonable.

We were at Ondina for Easter lunch with family. Nice place with really good food but before you come here prepare for a long waiting. I must admit that the food was definetely worth the wait(we ate fuzi and pljukanci with boškarin ragout and breaded pork with baked potatoes, also salad and soup(maneštra). The waiter forgot a part of our order but I repeat, food was very good so I can give them 5 stars. Also he apologized in a very nice way so no hard feelings for him.Wine is home made and me personally couldn’t recommend it but I am a sommelier and therefore my opinion can be a bit snobby)) They have no beer. I can see a space for a major improvement with little effort and hope my review will make the owner do it as I am about to recommend the place to our tourists.

Extremely poor service, forgot 1 dish, uninformed and lousy waiters. Every dish ordered extremely badly done. I recommend entering this restaurant only to ask for directions to a place where you can actually eat some (good) food and enjoy, at least, normal staff.

Buisness time: Only reservations.

We visited this agro-tourism restaurant for lunch during a tour entitled “Flavours of Istria” organised with TUI via local Croatian operators Gulliver Travel. The tour gave a flavour of the region and the restaurant a flavour of some local dishes. It seemed a bit unusual to be getting driven by coach into a very small hamlet however they were obviously well geared up for the process. We were welcomed at the restaurant by a piper (their version who wasn’t dressed in a kilt) and offered an aperitif of the local brew which came in shots of a few flavours. For the brave only there was some grappa, said by our guide to be of a very high alcoholic content and not tested by many on our tour. The flavoured drink was perfectly fine. The restaurant can seat quite a sizeable amount of visitors however it is designed in such a fashion that we never felt as if it was catering for the masses and that we were “packaged“. There were separate areas for small tour groups which isolated us from other parties and maintained a farmhouse-like atmosphere rather than a barn! We were seated at tables of around 8 fellow travellers and fortunately for us everyone was sociable and the atmosphere relaxing. The meal consisted of soup and bread and despite reservations of the soup being an odd thing to serve with soaring temperatures outside, it was delicious. (The temperature inside the restaurant was comfortable).Next we shared a couple of platters of pasta with meat or with cheese which again were perfectly tasty - the meat one had the odd bit of grizzle however I suspect it was one of those dishes where everything is put into a pot and cooked for hours - chunks of tender meat in general. To finish off we were served mini doughnuts covered in sugar which despite the coating didn’t taste too sweet. To help the food down locally produced red and white wine were served and having tried both I was satisfied that I would happily buy a bottle if offered - it wasn’t. Service throughout was quiet and efficient - plates arrived and left in a smooth manner so we hardly noticed. Meal completed we were offered a token gift of Istria (a little wooden item) in exchange for our tour receipt - not quite sure why but we also experienced something similar at our hotel during our holiday as part of a prize draw. The cost of the meal was inclusive in our trip. After viewing the temperamental donkey tied up outside and taking a few photos it was time to hit the trail for our next stop. Overall it was a very enjoyable visit, unhurried and well organised to avoid giving us a feeling we’d just been processed so full marks to all involved for achieving this result - a pleasant change from some similar operations we've experienced elsewhere.

We stopped for lunch and to look round the village, both restaurant and village great and nice to be away from the seafront cafes with their picture boards and their poor cooking. I had scrambled eggs with isterian sausage, wife had a desert! And daughter a chicken salad. All fresh well presented and tasty. Will come back for dinner!

Konoba Klarici

Reviewed By OlgaSaric

We were at Klarici during a family dinner. The menu was quite limited, the place was noisy, we were seated near the main door which was constantly opened and it was quite cold. Bunch of screaming kids running around unattended. Food was plain, over cooked, with lots of cream(truffle pasta), oil(grilled meat), the overall impression is: I am eating a frozen meal from supermarket. Maybe you can impress a foreigner but not me, sorry I live here and I know what Istrian food tastes like. Prosciutto was ok, but served with poor pickle and cheap olives from supermarket. Fail! We won’t be back and won’t recommend it. P.S. the bill was quite big

We had a great time there! It is a sweet little place with lots of nice details. The vineyard view and the domestic surrounding makes it even more relaxing and cozy. The staff is very professional, but helpful and easygoing. One can feel that everything is made with love and thoughtfully chosen. No matter which guests were on the other tables,we could feel that everybody is enjoying their time and meals. We'll visit again. :)Gentile Barbara grazie mille , ha colto il senso di Vorichi . Pizzeria Grimani

During our holiday we visited both pizzerias in Svetvincenat. Grimani appeared to be our favourite! The service staff was very friendly (though very busy and looking exhausted at the end of the evening), the pizzas were served pretty shortly after ordering, and this place absolutely gives value for money!Pizza's were richly decorated with vegetables and meat, to a level that they easily could save some on the ingredients without giving in on the quality. Most pizza's were below 50 kuna or 7 euros which really is a bargain given the high quality and nice place near the castle. You don't want to miss this place!
