Dotzer Restauration

We ate on a weekday night, so it was not crowded. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes but emphasizes steak and Italian dishes. We started with antipasti that was attractively presented and tasted as you would expect something that took careful preparation. Our meals were the same, attractive to look at and better to eat. The wine selection was sufficient and had several that you rarely see. Our red was also excellent. There was no room for dessert when the time came. While we were very pleased with the food and thought the restaurant above average in its decor, the prices were a bit steep. With that in mind, we still recommend Dötzer enthusiastically.

We booked to eat here before we left England as we knew the inside was very small. The day we went the weather was wonderful so lots of tables set up in the street which had a very good atmosphere. All the staff were friendly and efficient and mostly spoke some English. We had Brushetta to start with but it was very disappointing, just warm bread, not crispy, spread with tasteless goop. The main course was much better, their take on tagliata, 3 pieces of sizzling beef and a plate of salad. There are lots of really great places to eat in Bayreuth but I wouldn't recommend this as one of them.

What an incredible experience! Uponarriving in the lovely, classical German Town of Bayreuth, the oldest church was having their first Sunday service of the NewYear! Their singing rang through the stone paved streets, and the cold air was warmedwith their spirit! The meal served with such style was perfect! The pumpkin soup was delightful and theCheese Appetizer was a tower of manydifferent A+ selections! The goulashmade from venison was very fresh! The children loved their schnitzel and special potatoes!Traveling with small children often presentsit's challenges; however, this restaurantis very family friendly! From the WC to the dining rooms, the restaurant sparkles withclean, well-appointed rooms!Thank you for starting our New Year out in such a Grand Style!

The place is pretty big, with a really nice terrace seating in the back. The food is truly average, I would expect much better for the price. The grilled prawns very overdone and absolutely tasteless, the salad was quite good. Service is horrible, probably underpaid student staff who have no experience at all. On the bright side - they were pretty flexible with the vegetarian requests from my friend, so there's the third star. I don't think I would go again.

Kraftraum offers a cool and hip environment with a touch of food on the side. So far - so good, due to the fact that in this respect Kraftraum is no different from various other establishments worldwide - offering a care-free student-like atmosphere with some nice basic dishes, coffee, tea and light alcoholic drinks. You know that when you enter such a place you ought to care more about whether the writings of Voltaire are still relevant today than the size of salad. However, asking somewhere north of €8 for not a large breakfast, not including a hot drink with it and serving a mean 0.1L orange juice, does force one's mind off Voltaire and life's vicissitudes and onto more earthly questions, such as - will I ever set foot in here again...? Food for Thought...

There are some pretty rave reviews about this place and from my experience, they're justified. I had a sensationally fresh and tasty salad followed by one of the most outstanding thin, crispy based pizzas I've ever enjoyed. The place is basic and quite small, but the service is lovely and the prices incredibly reasonable. Highly recommended!

This historical restaurant is very cosy with a nice decorations. Service very friendly. We had a vegetarian dish: visually beautiful, fresh and tasty. A cheese plate as well. With a good local wine we enjoyed an excellent evening. The quality/price was a very positive surprise.

We decided to stop at a nice restaurant instead of eating in food courts on the high way and it was such a good decision. The restaurant is easy to access from highway and it offers a great service food and atmosphere. There were 11 of us, kids, vegetarians and meat lovers and everybody was thrilled about the food, adults could enjoy excellent selection of beers. Highly recommended, we will be back!Thank so much Agata! We are looking forward to your next visit!

Why, you might ask, would one go to Germany and eat at a Greek restaurant? It is there for the Germans who like Greek food, but why would a visitor go there? Our reason was that since leaving London, the treats of having Greek foods without a 100 mile journey are non-existent, and with online rave reviews it was a no-brainer. I do not need to write extra comments as other reviewers have said it all. Family run, outside tables, too much food - go and ENJOY!Below it asks whether there is free WiFi? WHO CARES? Ate here at lunch and dinner during the Bayreuth Festival. It was busy but not full. Restaurant is a traditional wooden beamed establishment on the high street, 3 mins walk from the Goldener Anker hotel. It was stifling hot inside (lunchtime) and not a fan in sight. Eveningtime was still warm inside. Reception was haphazard but friendly. English is spoken by a few waiters.Best dishes:wiener schnitzel(made with pork not veal), roast pork shoulder with crackling and spare ribs. Everything in large portions by UK/Austrian standards. Reasonable prices for such large portions. Most of the patrons (German) were sitting outside in the evening. Good restaurants are in short supply in the town of Bayreuth, so Oskar's is a helpful standby. Quick word on the town:it is all about Wagner. If not for its connection to Wagner (he lived and composed here). No nice restaurants, no posh shops, no deli...Bayreuth is definitely a very small town, and by the looks of it, has seen better days. The Festival is keeping it going, and the Margrival opera house is beautiful and unique.
